Judge's Critiques

My appreciation to the committee for inviting me to stand in for Judge Miss Ann Ingram at your show. I really enjoyed my day and was delighted with my final Winners. It was lovely to see my Best of Breed be placed 2nd in the Working Group and my Best Veteran awarded Reserve Best Veteran in Show.

MPD (2,0) Two very good quality puppies who both appealed to me. Both moved well but I just preferred the overall conformation of the smaller puppy in stature today.
1. Burnside’s Ramses Vasilyev Ostrov – Lively chap who gave his handler a bit of a hard time but when he settled, his movement was fluid and a pleasure to watch. Moved out well in side profile. He’s a good size for his age, decent bone, tidy feet, good angles, makes a lovely shape on the stand and was very balanced. Super waving tail on the move and lovely alert expression. Very nice puppy.
2. Smith’s Cash The Check Shamanrock at Snowshoes (Imp CZE) – Very well schooled young man who moved nice and steady around the ring and excelled in side profile. He’s well up to size for his age at the moment, really good bone and neat feet and lovely short hocks. Loved his soft expression. Tail rather tight. Another smart puppy.

1. Smith’s Cash The Check Shamanrock at Snowshoes (Imp CZE)

LD (3,1)  This was a nice class with 2 males who both enjoyed moving around the ring and showing themselves off well.
1. Wolfe’s Sutarka Fire Storm – Really liked this boy. Handled to advantage and was an easy winner. Looked impressive on the stand, nicely balanced and didn’t disappoint on the move. He had a lovely powerful but easy action. Shown in lush, dense coat with super bone, tight feet and fabulous tail. Beautiful head with gorgeous thick ears and kind expression. Thoroughly deserving of the RCC.
2. Palasinska’s Anson Del Biagio (Imp Ita) – a boy I’ve judged a few times now. Today he was on top form and gave his all. He is a good size, with ample bone and tight feet. Super waving plume and looks great in side profile, rather tight on the rear. Alert expression. Shown in great coat.

OD (5,2)  This was a very mixed class.
1. Copley-Holland’s & Hug’s Am Gchb Adair’n’Hug Rhythm and Blues – this standard male just had to be my winner. Even though he wasn’t in full coat, it made no difference as his firm, athletic body showed itself off so well as he was powering around the ring. He makes a smart picture on the stand and fits his frame so well. His bone and feet compliment his size and he sports a fabulous waving plume. I particularly liked his gorgeous head, with tiny thick ears and such an attractive face. The CC had to be his today.
2. Keeling’s Ir Ch Kishdigra Smooth Operator – a boy I’ve done well for before. I still like him but today he just wasn’t on his A game and a bit sluggish. No taking away from him though all his fine attributes, his bone, feet, head with beautiful expression and his super harsh coat of glorious red hues.

VD/B (2,1)
1. Smith’s Ch Snowshoes King’s legacy ShCM ShCEx – Standing alone but what a lovely and worthy example of a Veteran. Shown in super thick coat, really gleaming. Plenty of type and very nice proportions with super small hocks. Well muscled for his age. Delightful head and expression. Held topline really well as he moved effortlessly around the ring. Lovely dog.

MPB (2,0) – Again two very good quality puppies who both appealed to me. Loved watching these two pretty babies move around the ring.
1. Forsey’s Muzoku Charmed One – shown in lovely coat and standing so well over herself. Very nice proportions, great angles with substantial body and bone. Super tight feet. Happy waving plume as she showed really solid, fluid movement. Plenty of type and soundness. She just had to be my Best Puppy In Breed.
2. Smith’s Fancy Ferrari – another lovely puppy shown in fabulous coat. Well balanced with great angles. Toned body and good bone. Lovely feet . Sound movement around the ring and used herself to her advantage. Unlucky to meet No 1.

GB (2,1)
1. Finan’s Kasaan’s Marahootay Diamonds N Pearls – Oh I just loved this girl. Everything about her was Malamute ! She looked a picture both on the stand and on the move. She moved with gusto around the ring and covered the ground so easily. She had a fabulous thick, harsh coat , ample substance, bone and wonderful feet. Her dreamy expression just captivated me. Could not have been happier to award her the RCC.

PGB (2,1)
1. Murray’s Snowmischief If I Can Dream – Strong female with a lovely head and a good alert expression. Moved nicely around the ring but down and back could be cleaner. Shown in full coat. Decent bone and feet. Tail rather tight.

LB (1,0)
1. Robb’s Icewolf Jupiter Rising – as she came into the ring I just thought ‘wow’, another lovely girl. Again all malamute. Standard female with so much to like about her. Her pretty head with dinky ears, her nicely proportioned body with just the right amount of substance and bone. She was very will turned out and in sparkling coat. She moved around the ring as though she owned it – a great show girl. Today was her day and the CC just had to be hers. In the exciting Challenge she moved up another notch and gave the dog some good competition and she edged her way to the Best Of Breed.

OB (2,1)
1. Copley-Holland’s Ch/Am Ch/HR Ch Katabatic’s Hollaback Girl – standing alone she had plenty of chance to show off her great side movement in the ring. Really nice honest girl who has all the right attributes but a touch too long. Nevertheless a quality female.
