Judge's Critiques
A very pleasant day evaluating this breed, my observations are that this entry overall was slightly better than when I last judged the breed, concerns are that another 1” on the foreleg would give a much-needed lift to produce a better topline as required by the standard, tails, whilst there were some excellent tails on display, I think there is still room for improvement in this department.
Puppy Dog
1st Place 11864 – Kaskae Eiffel for You (Miss L & Mr S Aitchison & Hurst) A big strong dog of quality, at 11 months he is so mature both to view and to touch, well balanced head piece that left you in no doubt of his gender, good forehand with a good firm body, good mover in all directions and a good quality jacket, prepared and presented in very good order
Junior Dog
1st Place 11870 – Cedarcreek The Only Way Is Up (Mr A & Mrs L & Mrs M Burgess & Burgess & Page) I liked this male of only 13 months, he was in tip top condition throughout, good skull, good forehand and well bodied for his age, good topline which he held well on the move and an excellent tail to compliment his posture, presented in very good order, my only criticism is handler feeds him too much.
Post Graduate Dog
1st Place 11870 – Cedarcreek The Only Way Is Up (Mr A & Mrs L & Mrs M Burgess & Burgess & Page)
Limit Dog
1st Place 11873 – Chayo Here Comes Trouble (Mrs S Ellis-Payne). Another good male that excelled in most points, he has such a thick quality jacket. Nicely headed with good ears, strong neck and good front assembly which powered him forward with a good rear to match, good topline and tail carriage, prepared and presented in very good order.
2nd Place 11882 – Samjoe Shadowhunter JW (Mrs S & Miss L Perfitt). Well up to size with a good balanced head, good front assembly with good body proportions but needs to be broader, unfortunately not quite the coat and finish of winner, productive mover but needs a more firmer hand.
Open Dog
1st Place 11889 – Multi Ch The Magician Uniroyal (Mr F Tozzi). My notes say “what a smart dog not big” but full of quality, a dog that stacks well without assistance from the handler is naturally build right and can never stand wrong, beautiful head piece, best of forehands and good feet, a really quality body to go over with a strong topline and correct set of tail which he displays on the move, very effortless movement and was prepared and presented in pristine condition.
2nd Place 11884 – Snow Legend Zenith of Fame Nordicwinds JW ShCEx OSW (Imp Rus) (Ms J Phoenix). Larger framed male than winner, looks powerful, no weakness here with a really good body which was well muscled throughout, strong balanced head with good ears, plenty of bone, presented in very good order.
Puppy Bitch
1st Place 11872 – Kaskae Ooh La La avec Druxie (Miss K & Miss C & Miss L Druce & Druce & Aitchison). Feminine bitch that was well up to size, feminine head with good ear placement, good bone and feet, needs more time to broaden in forechest, pleasing body with a firm topline, needs a stronger tail to hold it off her back, with puppies you have to be patient as many things change, presented in good clean order.
Junior Bitch
1st Place 11872 – Kaskae Ooh La La avec Druxie (Miss K & Miss C & Miss L Druce & Druce & Aitchison)
Post Graduate Bitch
1st Place 11881 – Samjoe Seelie Queen (Mrs S & Miss L Perfitt) a nice sweet bitch that has a lot to like, but is distracted by handler feeding her and when moving she is looking for food all the time which is not ideal, nevertheless all is not lost as these things can be corrected by training her, sweet head piece which left you in no doubt about her gender, soundly constructed with a good body and topline, good mover once settled, presented in very good order.
2nd Place 11887 – Powderhound’s Sparks Will Fly at Amaqqut (Imp Usa) (Mr & Mrs J Sheehan) . similar bitch, lots to like but she was longer cast than winner, balanced head with a good eye, needs to broaden in forechest a little more to gain advantage, firm body with good rear quarters, presented in very good clean order.
Limit Bitch
1st Place 11869 – Tolketna Top of The World to Mountainglen (Mr A & Mrs L Burgess). This bitch was very good in front assembly which she produced on the move for all to see, she had the best coat in the class, balanced skull with good ear placement, good bodily parts and a firm backline although tail could be stronger when moving, presented in very good order.
2nd Place 11885 – Whitewalker Winter’s Gold (Mr I & Miss K Pullin & Mountstephens), quite a nice bitch that baffled me? I thought she could have produced a slightly better forward reach on a second inspection of her shoulder construction I could see there was nothing wrong so maybe you could mover her at a different pace for her to produce a better forward reach that she is quite capable of, however I thought her attractive in many ways with a good clean out line, self-stacks well, feminine head with good eye, pleasing body, and prepared and presented in very good order.
Open Bitch
1st Place 11879 – Ch The Magician Bloody Mary Cedarcreek (Imp Ita) (Mr P & Mrs M Page). This bitch baffled me for the reason that when she was stacked her topline was not as firm as it should be and this didn’t attract my eye, but when she started to move this bitch became a different dog in so far as her topline corrected and this wonderful plumed tail of the correct carriage appeared and was so beautiful to see she had to top the class. There was nothing I would change about her, prepared and presented in pristine condition.
2nd Place 11871 – Katabatics Troubleshooter JW (K E Copley-Holland). Another really nice bitch that catches your eye for her femininity and balance, very feminine head with a nice eye, good forehand, she had a better topline than winner in stance but not quite the elegance of carriage of winner on the move, but there is lots to like about her and she excels in many ways. She was prepared and presented in very good order.
Veteran Bitch
1st Place 11886 – Ch You Are The One of Kiyara’s Wolf Pak (Imp Deu) (Mr I & Miss K Pullin & Mountstephens). A very nice bitch with lots of attributes to admire, at 9 years old she was very well constructed and had a good deportment, good balance head with a nice eye, good forehand construction that she used on the move, really good firm body that left nothing to the imagination, good carriage but could have used tail to more advantage. Presented in pristine condition.
