Judge's Critiques

I would like to thank the Committee for the opportunity to judge at the show, plus their hospitality. Thanks also to my Stewards, who were both professional and friendly, and lastly the Exhibitors who gave me the honour of Judging their dogs and accepted all decisions with sportsmanlike grace.

PD (6,1) Cracking class, but showing quite a broad range of type.
1 Page’s Snow Legend Believe In You Cedarcreek (Imp Rus). Wearing a massive puppy jacket at present, and needs to broaden through head, really neat mover, well presented but tendency to over handle. Grew on me more and more each time I saw him, has a beautiful expression, lovely ears, will be one for the future if everything clicks into place BPIB and good Puppy group placing.
2 Barstow’s Ayakulik Sorcerers Trick. Cute baby, classic head, needs to strengthen and grow on all round, lovely ear shape, good expression, ok for bone, neat feet, good mover.
3 Bogle & Horsefield’s Whitewalkers Kings Landing At Valknut. Good strong head, lovely attitude, plume tail, not as clean on move, pasterns need to strengthen, this may come with age and exercise, tendency to drool.

JD (2)
1 Barstow’s Ayakulik Sorcerers Trick.
2 Barstow’s Ayakulik Black Magic. Exciting b/w baby, just overawed and bemused by the day, classic head, good front, lovely feet, great coat and condition, good leg length. Continue to treat him firmly and persevere with him please.

PGD (2)
1 Raby’s Yuayua At Icemoon (Imp Swe). Difficult class with both dogs pacing. Carrying a touch too much weight, of compact size, good condition, clean mover when correct, beautiful head and markings, lovely feet, sympathetically handled.
2 Botterill’s Cinneli Canadian Ace. Show pony worker, longer cast and needs a touch more bone to balance, weaker through pasterns. Having such a fun day out he never stopped wagging his tail.

LD (5) Mixed class.
1 Blaney’s Viking Fenrir Of Kiyara’s Wolf Pak (Imp Deu). Has matured well and is now coming into his own, leg length now more balanced and the rangeyness has gone, stride is immense, out of coat but texture good, plumed tail, good feet, slightly sniper but kind expression.
2 Finan’s Marahootay Crown Jewel (AI). Not entirely enjoying his day, he couldn’t be denied this place, great stride, just never really allowed to get into it, head of an older style you don’t always see nowadays, good strong features, very masculine.
3 Botterill’s Cinneli Polar Winter. Loved his length and size, just wouldn’t stop pacing, good weight and condition, well put together.

OD (3) Three lovely males but all very different.
1 Ellis & Nevinson’s Chayo Golden Touch ShCM. Beautiful mature male, in his prime and completely on his game today, rhymthic mover, mature head, lovely expression, great feet, excellent condition. Gave everything he had and was rewarded in return. Brilliantly handled. CC, which gave him his title, BOB, and a super group placing too.
2 Pullin & Mountstephen’s Ch Inupiats Qulit Henrik At Whitewalker (Imp Nor). Cracking Champion, just lost out on quality of head to first, great outline, good mover, would like straighter pasterns, covering good ground easily, pushed hard for a green card.
3 Kay’s Kaytoo Antarctic Rikki. Less bone and body than the others, quite athletic, moves with drive, nice boy, touch tight through tail.

VD (6,2)
1 Burnside’s Lux/Cib Ch LIbertia Reggae Master. Lovely boy, absolute wow on the move, an outside ring would really have suited him better, just preferred head and tail carriage of Open. Extremely well handled, presenting a lovely outline and keen expression, everything to play for in future. RCC.
2 Kay’s Kaytoo Antarctic Riki.
3 Raby’s Snowolf Black Ice Striker At Icemoon. Less bone, less compact, head has wider ear set, moved ok.

GCD (1) 1 Raby’s Snowolf Black Ice Striker At Icemoon.

PB (5,1) What a cracking puppy class, spoilt for choice and all should have bright futures.
1 Mogg’s Skidooshooz Time To Shine (AI). Offered up in great coat, brimming with confidence, lovely mover, good feet, great head and expression, would just love her to relax her tail a touch. Just scrumptious.
2 Godfrey’s Skidooshooz Quest For Glory (AI). Absolutely loved this one but she was a touch overwhelmed by everything, although superbly handled to a second place. Amazing spectacled markings, beautiful fore chest, great shape, moved really well, do persevere with her please.
3 Pullin & Mountstephen’s Whitewalker Winterfell. 11 months and a much more workmanlike babe, but in a working breed I see that as an asset. Still lots of maturing to do, great bone, good feet, head is currently not her fortune, but she’s certainly the one I’d be choosing for my team.

JB (2,1)
1 Horsman & Horsman-Phoenix’s Snow Legend Be My Lucky Nordicwinds NAF (Imp Rus). Fourth in puppy, cracking little fun muffin enjoying her day out, classic head let down by ears currently. Good harsh coat, cracking top line, touch short in back and lacking in bone, definitely won the happy prize.

PGB (4,1) Difficult class.
1 Finan’s Marahootay Destiny’s Child (AI). Great bone, excellent mover with long rhythmic gait, touch on the small side, good feet, of a type not often seen the ring here.
2 WInterburn’s Cinneli Polar Sway. Big girl, touch doggy, not as clean on move as first, good balance of length to height though, needs stronger feet. Happy temperament.
3 Horsman & Horsman-Phoenix’s Nordicwinds In Your Dreams. Baby of the class which showed in her lose movement, touch snipey with a head that needs to mature, harsh coat, over handled especially for her age, needs to body up and strengthen

LB (5,1) Nice class.
1 Campbell & Elliott’s Packice Neiden Winterling. Love her out line, so clean and conditioned, fore chest, loin, tail, croup, top line, great expression. Rhyming ground covering gait, cheeky personality. Pulled out all the stops for the CC, her first.
2 Brown’s Skidooshooz Bohemian Soul Of Cupun (AI). Shorter coated but many of the same attributes, handled to perfection, she just shouted ‘look at me’, and look I just kept doing. Ok head, lovely expression, ears a tad wide, good weight, great feet, brilliant mover, her best is only just starting to come I predict. RCC.
3 Winterburn’s Cinneli Polar Sway.

OB (6,4) Two top class ladies, one just being very very naughty.
1 Jarvis & Troisi’s Nordicwinds All Attitude. 5 years and maturing beautifully, loved her profile on the move, top line fab, rhythmic gait, great coat, in full bloom, oblique eye, fab ears, well handled.
2 Ellis’ Ch Chayo Blue Diamond (AI). Cracking madam, hard condition, great weight, slightly narrow through chest, beautiful head, just wouldn’t take the day seriously and show off her attributes enough, handler did try!

VB (6,2)
1 Blaney’s Ch Windberg Paparazzi To Fenrirkin ShCM. Happy matron, worthy Champion, terrific outline, great harsh jacket, well handled, excellent ground covering gait, pushed hard for a card.
2 Butler’s Kaytoo Antarctic Anko. Honest working dog presented in good condition, not over exaggerated in anyway, ok bone.
3 Page’s Cedarcreek Exquisite. Light eye which spoilt her expression, not keen on her head shape and expression, moved ok but without drive, good harsh coat, sympathetically handled and presented well.
