Judge's Critiques
Thank you for such a large entry at this show. Not generally given to opening comments, I was, however, struck by the number of poor bites/mouths which you ignore at your peril. In terms of structure, croups are of broader concern and several exhibited flapping pasterns, another significant fault.
PD(7, 1)
1 Fitch’s Tuvaurat Dances With Wolves. Immature but standard fitting head, keen expression, good shoulder, nice topline, sufficient croup and well angulated in the rear, well set tail, good feet and pasterns, easy on the move.
2 Wilkinson &Jelfs’ Savanite Drus Miracle Para Lapema. Very much a baby but possesses good angulation and is well balanced throughout, light, easys footed gait, lots of potential and it will be interesting to see him tighten up over time.
JD(5, 2)
1 Molloy &Edwards’ Koolrunnings Rock With U (Imp Aus). Excellent head, well set ears, good reach of neck, correct overall proportions, strong topline, well balanced throughout with a good ground covering gait, absolutely sound coming and going, would benefit by some good hard conditioning.
2 John’s Shomont Raisin Suspicions Among Cristakell. Masculine head, well set ears, correct muzzle, excellent shoulder, good topline and just about sufficient croup, another that would benefit from harder conditioning.
PGD(10, 2)
1 Dolan &Dolan’s Tuvaurat Valentino. Res DCC. Still very immature at two and a half years old, a good sign, lovely head and expression, good stop and well set ears, correct muzzle and good tight fitting lips, good bone, well angulated front and rear, nice feet and good pasterns, he has all the structural attributes now for the muscle and condition. Excellent prospect.
2 Forsey &Louch’s Snowshoes Storm Ahead TAF. I preferred the head of first and this nice example of the breed was more compact in type, but well angulated front and rear and covered plenty of ground on the move.
LD(5, 1)
1 Bebiano’s Prince Marshall. Good head with correct muzzle, well set eyes and a keen, alert expression, good shoulder, nice topline, good tail set and carriage, good depth of chest, correct length to height ratio and good ground covering gait.
2 Coman’s Chayo Fortune Comes To Wintalakes. This chap seemed a little ‘hot’ on the day and not as laid back as first, however a lot of potential here with great balance throughout, excellent angulation, a good topline and an effortless ground covering gait, good feet and nice pasterns.
OD(8, 1)
1 Ellis’ Ch Chayo All Eyes On Me. DCC and BOB. At first glance one might feel that this could be too much for me. However this was the only exhibit in the class to possess all the necessary structural attributes and consequently completely outmoved the opposition, strong masculine head, good topline, balanced front and rear, nice feet and pasterns, sufficient condition, good coat and shown to advantage, delighted he achieved Group 2.
2 Bebiano’s Malta Ch Mlt Ch Equinox Woodvram Polarni Usvit JW. More compact in type than first, nevertheless well angulated and balanced throughout, sound on the move and had plenty of reach and drive in profile.
PB(9, 2)
1 Roach &Pyper’s Celticice Denarius Xhanxi. BP. Probably exhibited the best muscle and condition of any on the day, very well balanced youngster with a standard fitting feminine head, strong topline, excellent croup, tail set and carriage, very easy ground covering gait, good prospect, noce sled dog.
2 Roach &Pyper’s Celticice Quinarius Messie. Another very similar in type to first, slightly preferred the croup of first, however, again well balanced and moved to advantage, not quite the condition of first.
JB(11, 3)
1 Prout’s Czech Me Out Shamanrock (Imp). Attractive standard fitting head, good ear set and hazel eye, keen and alert, good reach of neck, balanced throughout with an easy ground covering gait, good topline, excellent croup, shown in good coat and condition.
2 Mogg’s Skidooshooz Havin A Blast. Nice head, very easy on the move with good reach and drive, lacked a little muscling and therefore not as tight as first, good prospect.
PGB(10, 2)
1 Murray &Whyman’s Tailfly Rainbow Ribbons. Correct stop, well set eyes, keen alert expression, good forward reach and sufficient drive from behind, nice feet and pasterns, light footed, easy gait.
2 Bevan’s Snowolf Manhatten Glory With Conyzone. Stronger head than first, however, balanced and with plenty of drive, could do with losing a little weight perhaps.
LB(11, 1)
1 Roach &Pyper’s Dankatcha Floryn Kundalini At Celticice. I found on examination this to be a nice bitch, however, she was certainly not shown to advantage. Lovely head, excellent angulation, correct bone, good feet, nice coat but I have seen her in harder condition.
2 Butler’s Arcticdawns Free And Easy At Kayton. Lovely feminine head, very nice in profile with good bone, however, I would like a little more croup, very light, ground covering gait, excellent feet and pasterns, shown to advantage.
OB(12, 5)
1 Butler’s Kaytoo Where Legenda R Born. BCC. A lovely example of the breed, in her veteran years. Oozes quality, classic head complete with show nose, good reach of neck and in great proportions and with excellent angulations, easy athletic movement in profile and could have run all day, absolutely sound coming and going, excellent feet and pasterns, one to take home!
2 Towers &Rivers’ Polarpaws Naknek Dreamer Sh CM. Very different in type but another good example of the breed, feminine head, good reach of neck, good topline, nice tail set and carriage, not quite the ease of movement of first but well handled and presented.
