Judge's Critiques
My thanks go to my two brilliant stewards Pete Styles and Mary Ann Hodge who kept the ring flowing at all times which makes a big difference when there is another breed following on in the same ring. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for their sporting applause for each other which are not always heard around the ring these days. We eventually got started 30 minutes late in all rings because of the appalling rain and traffic queues but the rain did stop and the sun came out which turned it into a pleasant day. My principal winners were Mountstephens & Pullin’s Inuplats Quilt Henrik At Whitewalker (Imp Nor) Dog CC & BOB & G4. I am told this has made him a Champion and judging by the reaction of his handler, it defiantly has. Page & Sheehan’s. Cedarcreek Frozen River, RCC for their boy. Loades’s. Snowolf Blackpowder Chick. Bitch CC and the RBCC went to Rodger’s & Wheeler’s. Northspirit A Star Is Born. The BPIB went to Copley-Holland’s Katabatics Hollaback Girl. BVeteran was won by Cornah Wade & Cornah’s 11year old girl, Hawkam Last Chance, she also went on to win Veteran G4.
MPD. 2.
1st & BPD Cameron’s. Sutarka Fire Storm. 8mths. A nice looking boy who is correct in head, nice eyes and good ear carriage,I also liked his overall construction, he moved well most of the time but he did get a little distracted by dogs near the ring but his handler kept him in check so he could complete his task.
2nd. Raby’s.Yuayua at Icemoon (Imp). 8 mths. Another nice looking boy with the correct head and a decent body, a little shorter in leg than the first placed dog but there is plenty of time for development, he moved ok but not as cleanly as the winner.
JD. 1.
1st Ellis’s. Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fire For Chayo (Imp). 15 mths, A striking looking red boy who stood alone but well deserved his first prize. I liked him in profile and the way he flows out of his neck into a good top line, he moved out well and there was no problem with his gait, he looked good on the return and stood well for his handler.
GD. 3.
1st Brooks’s. Snobruk Secret Mission (al) JW. 23 mths. He has a nice head with good ear and eye placement, correct dentition and a good neck which runs well into his level top line. He moved well on his triangle but on the up and downs he was sliding so I ask the handler to do it again on the opposite side of the ring and this was much better with it being dryer and his movement was without faults and he also looked good on the stand in profile.
2nd. Ellis’s. Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fire For Chayo (Imp).(A repeat of JD)
3rd. Jelfs. Lapema Garota Rude JW.
PGD.6 (1abs).
1st.Winterburn’s. Cinnell Polar Force.18 mths. A boy with good leg length and correct shoulders, good neck flowing into correct top line. His head is clean and when I eventually got to see his dentition there are no problems there either. The conditions were very wet with the ring eventually drying out but I had to ask him to move again because I could not see his reach properly, on the second time of moving he was much better and deserved his win.
2nd.Woodall’s. Monikoona Ice Chief Brody. 2yrs. A well-constructed boy who looks good in the ring, I liked his overall construction and the way he moved, he just needs to polish up his act a bit and he will be taking first’s instead of seconds in my opinion.
3rd. Page & Jarvis’s. Cedarcreek Frozen Asset.
LD. 7.(1 abs).
1st & RCC. Page & Sheehan’s. Cedarcreek Frozen River. 2yrs. A very handsome boy shown in good coat and in top condition, correct throughout in head and a strong neck, excellent fore chest, good top line which he held on the move and was showing good reach. He couldn’t have done anymore to please and he well deserved his award. Another 12 to 18 mths or so and this boy will be pushing for the bigger honour.
2nd. Botterill’s. Cinnell Canadian Ace. 19 mths. He looks good for his age with a well-developed head and body. He is a strong boy who moved quite well and his gait was faultless, the more he moved the better he got and I feel he will do well in the future.
3rd. Butler’s. Kaytoo Antarctic Kuma.
O. 6. (2 abs). This was the best class of the day and any of these four dogs could have won it and it wasn’t easy to choose my winner but choose I did and I learnt after that this win made this boy a Champion.
1st & DCC and BOB & WG4. Mountstephens & Pullin’s. Inupiats Qulit Henrik At Whitewalker (Imp Nor). He looks the part in profile and he has a presence that drew me in to look at him longer than I normally do. He is very well put together with correct dentition and a pleasing expression, good ears, eyes, neck, topline, shoulders and he stood perfectly for me to check him over, his lines are so clean that they show his strong powerful body as he moves around the ring with ease on his well-muscled quarters, he was well handled and he deserved to be because he gave his handler his all. Well done on your Group 4 place.
2nd. Thompson’s. Libertia In Red Again At Shomont. 5 yrs, a handsome red boy who has a good front with a nice lay of shoulder, he is correct throughout in head and body and his temperament is excellent, he moved really well, he is very well balanced with good quarters.
3rd. Ellis & Nevinson’s. Chayo Golden Touch Sh CM.
VD. 5 (1abs)
1st . Robb’s. Multi Ch Under Icewolf’s Star Inditarod (Imp) JW Sh.CM Jun Ch. 8 yrs. A hansome boy with a good front and fore chest, well-muscled with good quarters which he used well to drive around the ring like a youngster. He is correct throughout in body and head.
2nd. Copley-Holland’s. Ch Am Ch Adair ‘n’ Hug Casual Class (Imp USA). 7 yrs. A very well balanced boy shown in good condition. He strode out well covering the ground with ease and held his topline as he showed me his gait, he was a pleasure to judge.
3rd. Jarvis & Packham & Brown’s. Icetrax Red Diesel.
MPB.4.
1st.Perfitt’s. Samjoe The Dream Lives On (al). 8 mths.A very pretty well balanced puppy with a nice head and body. She moved very well and even at her age she was holding her topline correctly.
2nd Dobson’s. Sutarka La Dolle Vita. 8 mths.A very nicely made puppy who is correct in head, mouth, ear set and nicely shaped eyes, she is neither over or under done she is very well balanced, she moved quite well for her handler and I can see her having a good future.
3rd. Obrien’s. Freezefactor Angel Wings.
PB. 3. (1abs)
1st & BPIB. Copley-Holland’s. Katabatics Hollaback Girl. 10 mths. I liked her expression and her lovely dark eyes, she is very attractive and her conformation is good to the eye. She moved very well holding her topline at all times, I was pleased to award her BPIB.
2nd. Dobson’s. Sutarka La Dolle Vita. (See MPB class for critique)
GB. 5. (2abs).
1st. Jelfs’s. Lapema Tavola Ouija JW. 18 mths. A girl who is very pleasing on the eye and fits the breed standard well, she needed time to settle but once she did she was faultless and did enough to win the class.
2nd. Brook’s. Snobruk Secret Liaison (ai) 23 mths. She has nice dark eyes and good ear carriage and is very well made and looks a very strong girl. She moves well and it was very close between the first two.
3rd. Saye’s. Packice Finnmark Mini Me
PGB.6.
1st . Haywood’s. Cherubini Atene Winterscall. 2 ½ yrs She is well proportioned and I loved her reach and arch of neck which runs into her very good top line. She is well balanced throughout with good quarters. She was faultless on the move and she made it easy for me in this class to choose her as the class winner. Well handled.
2nd. Saye’s. Packice Mora. 4 yrs. A well-made girl but nothing overdone, good shoulders, nice top line, good tail set and very good hocks that she used well when covering this ring with ease.
3rd. Morgan’s. Cedarcreek Frost Bite.
LB. 8.(2abs).
1st & BCC Loades’s. Snowolf Blackpowder Chick. 2 ½ yrs. A very impressive looking girl with an excellent front and topline, her dentition is good and she has a pleasant expression, her neck is excellent and so is her top line which is level and slightly sloping and her body is correct throughout which showed when she moved without putting a foot wrong, she beat an excellent exhibit in this class to get her reward.
2nd .& RCC. Rodger & Wheeler’s. Northspirit A Star Is Born. 2yrs. A good looking girl with a nice front, good feet correct head. In profile she looks well balanced throughout and she has correct dentition and a pleasing expression, her front is faultless and when she moved she moved like a train, she could not have asked for any more from her girl.
3rd. Butler’s. Kaytoo Antacrtic Anko.
O.5. (2 abs).
1st. Page’s. Cedarcreek Exquisite. 6 yrs . She looks well for 6, she has a pleasing expression and is correct throughout with nothing over or under done, She moved out well and held her gait, she only just edged her litter sister out of first place, well done.
2nd. Mountstephens & Pullin’s.Cedarcreek Exclusive At Whitewalker. 6 yrs.she is a litter sister to the winner. I liked her head which is correct and well balanced and so is her body but she was lacking the drive I was looking for which was a shame because other than that she hadn’t done anything wrong.
3rd. Jelfs. Justami Meoquanee Per Lapema JW.
V. 7. (2 abs)
1st & BVIB & VG4. Cornah-Wade’s. Hawkam Last Chance. 11 yrs. She looks so good for her years and she appeared to enjoy being in show ring and stood well as I went over her, I found no faults and she felt as fit as many of the younger girls in previous classes. She moved out well on her triangle and looking at her in gait I could see she has kept her level top line and she deserved her first place and I was pleased to hear she also won VG4.She is a credit to her owner who must have felt very proud of her.
2nd. Brook’s. Snobruk Rising Star Of Kisnicova. 9 yrs, she’s well balanced and has good dentition, and correct ear carriage, she has a pleasing face and looks so strong I felt she could still carry out a good days work. She moves very well for her age and she’s a credit to her owner as are all the dogs in this class.
3rd. Loades’s. Ch Snowolf Manhatten Marvel.
