A big thank you to the show committee for my first CC judging appointment. I would also like to thank all exhibitors who gave me a fantastic entry and endured the sweltering heat to show their dogs. Having not been around the show ring circuit for the last few years many of these dogs were completely new to me and I felt I was able to judge with an unbiased head. Two points I must mention was that I saw too many level bites and had more grumblers than I have experienced in the past when judging, which is a bit of a worry. Bitches were stronger in type than the dogs. Coats do seem to have improved somewhat as I didn’t have too many dogs with soft coats. What was lovely to see was more of the plume tail as it really finishes off the Malamute outline.
In several classes decisions were very difficult and placings could easily have been swapped around.

MPD (1,0)
1. Walker – Lapema Doppio Massimo. Loved the outline of this boy. Good angulation, good bone and strong pleasing head. Correct course coat. Moved well around the ring.

PD (3,0)
1. Buchanan – Chayo Worth The Wait. Strong head with nice size muzzle. Good angulation giving a lovely outline. Good bone for size. Tail carried too tight. Moved well coming and going.
2. Walker – Lapema Doppio Massimo. See MPD

JD (7,1)
1. Syson – Icewolf Eyes on the Prize JW. Loved him. Great outline. Good angulation. Strong head with great expression. Good bone for size. Correct coat. Moved well around the ring.
2. Redhead – Candrakantra Moon River. Lovely proportions to this boy. Good bone. Broad head. Good chest. Correct textured coat. Easy movement.

PGD (9,5)
1. Elliott & Campbell – Mountain Homes Lead Dog at Packice (IMP). A well put together boy. A broad head with good muzzle and small ears. Strong neck. Shorter coupled but with good angulation and outline. In good body condition. Correct coat. Moved with drive around the ring.
2. Singh – Sledog Dream Maker (AI) Another well put together dog. Good angulation and outline. Good body condition. A broad head with small ears. Stop more prominent than first placed and just beaten on the day with movement.

LD (10,2)
1. Lond-Caulk – Icewolf Devil May Cry. Strong head. Good bone and angulation. Harsh coat. Lovely outline. Held topline on the move. Easy stride going around the ring.
2. Cox – Snowolf Ice Cold Malik. Strong broad well proportioned head with great expression. Strong neck. Deep chest. Lovely outline. Preferred side gait of first placed.

OD (8,0)
1. Robb – Int Ch Under Icewolf’s Star Inditarod (IMP) JW Sh Handsome dog. I loved his outline. Good head proportions giving a great expression. Strong neck. Correct coat. Good angulation. Moved with drive and ease around ring. RDCC
2. Henworth – Wolfraven’s Galactic Halo Handsome dog. Good head with great expression. Strong neck, good bone and lovely outline. Held topline on the move. Covered ground well.

VD (3,1)
1. Loades – Snowolf Canuck Bullit Sh.Cm Handsome dog. Excellent head and length of neck. Good bone. Shown in great condition. Great outline and angulation. Could not fault his easy movement. DCC BOB Found out later that the CC made him up to a UK Champion (to be confirmed by KC) which is well deserved.
2. Singh – Mountain Home Sledog Pride (IMP) Another well put together dog. Liked him a lot. Lovely shaped head with good proportions. Strong neck. Good angulation and outline. Covered ground well but just out moved on the day.

PB (6,1)
1. Aitchison & Hurst – Kaskae My Cup of Tea Lovely feminine expression. Good proportions to head. Lovely outline to body. Correct angulation. Covered ground well when moving around the ring. BP
2. Horsman-Phoenix & Page – Shakira Northwest Artic NAF Great feminine expression. Good head, ears a little big. Strong neck. Good angulation. Moved well.

JB (8,2)
1. Wilkinson & Jelfs – Justami Meoquanee Per Lapema A well balanced girl of substance. Feminine head with great expression. Good bone and angulation. Liked her outline. Lovely easy movement around the ring.
2. Brook – Snobruk Speechless Another bitch with substance. Broad but feminine head. Strong neck. Good bone. Held topline on the go and moved with ease around the ring.

PGB (7,1)
1. Shorer-Wheeler – Koromandel Firefight (AI) Strong feminine head with good expression. Liked her outline. Good angulation. Balanced easy movement around ring.
2. Mountstephens & Pullin – Cedarcreek Exclusive Lovely outline to this bitch. Good bone. Head not as strong as 1. Held topline and moved well around the ring

LB (12, 3)
1. Druce & Druce – Koromandel On Strange Tides (AI) Feminine head with great expression. Strong neck. Good bone. Liked her balanced outline. Sound mover.
2. Wrightson – Snobruk Rising Star of Kisnicova Feminine head. Liked her outline. Good bone. Balanced angulation. Moved well around the ring.

OB (13,6)
1. Taylor – Hyteton Relu Silver Moon For Luponooshka A substantial girl. Broad head but feminine. Strong neck. Good depth of chest and rib. Loved her outline. Moved with reach and drive. Unfortunately she didn’t hold her topline in the challenge for BOB. BCC
2. Loades – Snowolf Manhatten Marvel A girl of substance. Broad feminine head with good proportions. Good length of neck with good depth of chest. Liked her angulation. Very balanced on the move. RBCC

VB (9,1) A class full of fun and energy. Could not believe they were veterans.
1. Butler – Kaytoo Kandi Kandu Won this class on movement. She moved steadily and with ease which impressed. Liked her outline and length of neck. Feminine head and expression. Good depth of chest.
2. Cornah & Cornah Wade – Hawkam Last Chance Another good mover who caught my eye when moving around the ring. Feminine head. Great outline. Good bone and feet. Well angulated.
