Judge's Critiques

Once again, I would like to thank all exhibitors for a great entry and the excellent support ringside with such a friendly atmosphere. The standard of both the presentation and condition of the exhibits was exceptional and temperaments were excellent. Size and shape of feet seemed to have improved, still quite a few large ears but my biggest worry was the amount of level and incorrect bites that I saw. Breeders really need to look at this problem that is now creeping in. I was thrilled that my Best of Breed achieved 2nd Place in the Working Group.

PD (13. Abs 2)
1. Mort’s Arcticbreeze Midnite Hero.
Caught my eye the minute he entered the ring. A young boy of beautiful proportions, plenty of substance, well arched feet, great coat and well furred tail finishing off with the most lovely of heads for such a baby. I was not at all disappointed when he moved and his handler kept him nice and steady showing off his easy gait. I was delighted to give him BPIB and will watch his show career with interest.
2. Kelsey’s Monikoona Easy Rider Into Jaydonspire.
Another lovely youngster with moderate bone and nice tail. Strong head with correct eye set and scissor bite. In full coat and made a pleasing shape. Not as settled on the move as 1, but with time should come into his own.

JD (13. 4 Abs)
1. John’s Cristakell Aeolian Nite
This boy has a super outline with very nice proportions. He has a really appealing head with a soft expression, almond shaped dark eye and correct bite. Harsh coat and fabulous big snow shoe feet. Would like his tail to be carried a little better. Moved soundly and strongly around the ring . Another to watch for the future.
2. Plant and Stanyer’s Catua Dark Side of The Moon..
Slightly larger dog with very nice qualities. Typy head with good bite. Carries his tail well and in full coat. Moved free and easy.

PGD (14. 4 Abs)
1. Bebiano’s Prince Marshall.
This dog was handled very well and made the best of himself. Moderate bone with good head and bite. In full jacket and tail is good. Balanced overall but I would like a little more chest and rear angles. Covered the ground with ease on the move.
2. Waker’s Casiat Fuori Del Mondo Di Alcahawk.
Lovely red boy who makes a very nice shape standing. Great harsh coat with good tailset. Good width of head with correct eye set. Moved well but felt he didn’t give his all.

LD (14. 3 Abs)
1. Ballington-Graham’s Catua A Kind Of Majyk JW
Have judged this young boy before and today he showed and was nice and alert ! In really good condition with harsh coat and good tailset. Lovely head with correct bite. Eyes slightly round and would prefer darker. However, maturing very nicely and moved out with purpose.
2. Sheehan’s Hawkam leading The Trail Via Amaqqut.
Liked this dog a lot and was a very close call with 1. He looked really good on the move and held his topline well. He has a very typy head with a lovely soft expression but spoils himself as he needs to use his ears more when standing. In great coat and carried his tail well.

OD (13. Abs 2)
This was a class with so much depth of quality. I only wish there had been more cards to give out.
1. Bebiano’s Malta Ch Equinox Woodvram Polarni Usvit ( Imp).
Such a super young male who has so much promise and great ring presence . He has a beautiful head with small ears with correct dark eyes, bulky muzzle and depth of skull. Gentle sloping topline and correct spring of rib. Good tailset and carriage on the move. Snowshoe feet with a powerful open side gait. In full coat and in great condition and was at one with his handler. He stood away from the class on the move and could not be denied the class. DCC and BOB and G2.
2. Phillips’ and Sautbine’s Am Ch Sno Quest’s Gold Standard (Imp)
Another boy with a super head, dark eye and strong muzzle but would prefer better ear set. Well muscled, correct coat, great tail set and fabulous large typical feet. Has a strong front and rear and propels himself around the ring with an easy side gait. Handled very well but just lacking the ‘sparkle’ that was so evident in 1. RDCC

PB (18 5 Abs)
1. Mort’s Arcticbreeze Midnite Echo
This litle baby girl ticked all the boxes for me both on the stand and when moving. Such a pretty head with a gorgeous expression. Good bite . Lovely tight feet with full stand off coat. Nice tailset and moved soundly. Lost out to her litter brother in the Puppy Challenge as she wasn’t as settled.
2. Kinnear’s Libertia Poison Ivy.
Very pretty bitch with lovely feminine head and super dark eyes. So well off for bone with good tail set and full coat. Shown in very good condition

JB (18. 7 Abs).
1. Smith’s Snowshoes Diamond Cut
Very apt name for this little lady. Thought her very ‘flashy’ and she used herself so well. Very attractive head, eye could be darker . In super coat with waving plume tail and moved with ease around the ring. Really good proportions and nicely balanced.
2. Wolfe’s Follow My Dreams Polarni Usvit Via Dreamwolves.
Another quality youngster who showed extremely well. Beautiful head with tiny ears and dark eye. Great tail carriage with super extension front and rear. Very close call between these two and I wished I’d had two red cards. Am sure they will swap places on another day.

PGB (16. 5 Abs)
1. Brown’s Alaskanstar Jet For Icetrax
Lots to like about this girl. All round package making a nice shape. Such a pretty face with good ears, eyes and bite. Ample bone, well coated with tight feet. Moved very tidily around the ring.
2. Vasarhelyi’s O’kinastar First Lady.
Loved this girl on the stand and thought she was originally my class winner. Ample bone, in good condition with thick coat. Strong but not overdone head with dark eye. On the move held her topline well but just didn’t have the flowing ease of movement and extension as did 1.

LB. (19. 7 Abs)
1.Clark’s Marahootay Sorcery At Shamanictrax
A quality bitch in impressive coat and condition. Very well presented and handled and didn’t put a foot wrong. Scored on type overall with feminine head, lovely dark oblique eye and good bite. Correctly proportioned. A good honest bitch of great substance with tight feet and good rear angulation. Held it together well to take the BCC but was unlucky to come up against such an outstanding Dog in the Challenge. BCC and BOS
2. Shorer-Wheeler’s Koromandel Somebody Told Me JW
Liked this girl a lot also. Another one very well schooled and showing so well and moving soundly. Moderate bone and substance with a feminine head, eye a little round and could be darker. In good coat and carries tail well.

OB. (20. 7 Abs)
1. Hood’s Mottomo Kirei No Yukimigata. (Imp)
A very smart bitch with a strong head, good bite and lovely eyes. Well boned with strong short pasterns and ample front and chest. Moved around the ring with purpose with her waving tail. Unfortunately in the challenge just couldn’t hold her topline. RBCC
2. Tower’s & River’s Polarpaw’s Naknek Dreamer
Lovely bitch with attractive head. Thick coat with good tail set and well off for bone. Moved around the ring very well but would have liked more extension and drive.
