Judge's Critiques

I did my best to keep the exhibits & the exhibitors out of the rain as much as possible & would like to thank them for the kind way they took my decisions & there kind applause to their fellow exhibitors which is somewhat lacking around some show rings these days.
The qualities of the dogs were good with just a few incorrect mouths. I do feel mouths have improved & only found disappointing mouths in a few of the older exhibits. I was informed, after judging, that my BOB which was the dog has now become a champion.

MPD (3)
1 Plant & Stanyer’s Siskara For Your Eyes Only, 6½ months, very promising puppy who is very well balanced in head & body throughout, moved with ease & with confidence & never put a foot wrong, in good coat & very well handled. BP;
2 Harris’ Snowtwinkle Delta Breeze, 6 months, only a young boy who appeared a little bewildered by what was going on, he was a little stilted in his rear movement but was impressive on his return. I think he just needs time to develop more of him all over which will obviously come with age. I did like his head & like 1 he has correct ear & eye placement with good dentition;

JD (1)
1 Horsman-Phoenix’s Falco Huk Amarok for Nordicwinds, 15 months, alone & looked well coming from his neck into a reasonable topline & well balanced body. His rear movement appeared to be a little stilted but I liked everything else about him. His overall appearance on the stance was very impressive.

YD (3)
1 Cochran’s Malamaison Tell It As It Is, 18 months, very impressive boy who has everything a young dog needs height, weight & balance with a beautiful head that is without faults. I found him to be stunning & when he moved I was even more impressed, he flows around with an air of confidence that cannot be taught, they either have it or they do not, this boy had it all. On the stance he was first class & well deserved his awards & was a pleasure to judge. RCC;
2 Butler’s Kaytoo Antarctic Taro, 18 months, much finer dog than 1 but what is there is balanced. I did like his head & the way his neck flowed into a perfectly level sloping topline. He wasn’t really interested in moving well & had to be checked a few times but I feel with time & more training he will eventually get what it’s all about. His handler tried hard but he really was a handful;

PGD (3)
1 Price’s Snowallen Thor De Lunartico, this very handsome looking boy has a pleasing head which is correct throughout, overall balance is neat & tidy & eventually he moved very well for his handler after a couple of attempts. He just snatched this win away from 2 who really was a very close second;
2 Kelsey’s Jaydonspire’s True Grit, found him to be a very nice looking boy who was in good coat, temperament is second to none & was a real pleasure to judge, on the move I could not fault him. I really was splitting hairs when it came to my placing because he too is also so well balanced & well made;

LD (10)
1 Plant & Stanyer’s Catua Dark Side Of The Moon, very strong looking boy throughout with excellent hocks, head is strong with a decent stop, correct eye shape with good ear carriage & correct dentition, very well balanced & moves without faults & looked really good when he was coming back to me;
2 Lond-Caulk’s Icewolf Devil May Cry, very well balanced boy with good bone, pleasing head that is correct throughout without faults, moved out well & came back with an easy carefree style that I liked. His overall leg length was a bit shorter than 1 but that did not stop him striding out & moving well. Overall a very nice dog who pushed hard for the class;

OD (8)
1 Innes’ Pol Ch Monikoona Appalachain Rock of Icycool, very handsome looking boy who is well made & well balanced with a good head that is without faults, comes well out of his neck into a good topline & correct tail carriage, strong front with good feet. A classy looking boy that really looked the part. He moved faultlessly & was very pleasing on the eye & was still showing well in the challenge for BOB, which he won. CC & BOB;
2 Robb’s Int Ch Under Icewolf’s Star Inditarod, another very handsome boy who has everything going for him, correct in head with a beautiful expression & a kind face, lovely front & correct feet, good neck & topline with strong hocks. Moved well but I felt he was flagging very slightly & splitting hairs this cost him the top spot;

PB (1)
1 Page & Horsman-Phoenix’s Shakira Nortwest Arctic, 11 months, very well balanced girl with a kind expression, liked her head which has good eye & ear placement & her neck flows well into her nice topline, good front with correct feet & quarters are well balanced, moved without fault. Although alone & was out of coat, well deserved her prize. BPB.

JB (6)
1 Wilkinson & Jelfs’ Justami Meoquanee Per Lapema, 16 months red girl with good bone & straight front, well balanced & very appealing on the eye, her movement was without faults & was in control of herself throughout. This was a strong class for her to win because there really wasn’t very much between the first three;
2 Wendel’s Malamaison Hot Gossip, 16 months, medium bone with good leg length & correct quarters. Slightly taller girl than 1 & she also moved without faults as did her litter sister who was in third spot. I do feel that all of the first three dogs in this class will change places when they meet at future shows, there really is very little between them & they were all shown well;

YB (6)
1 J Meoquanee Per Lapema;
2 M Hot Gossip;.

PGB (4)
1 Druce’s Koromandel On Strange Tides, very pretty girl with a pleasing expression, good eye & ear placement & correct dentition, in good condition & really looked the part when she moved covering the ground with ease which showed off her beautiful front & was handled & shown very well;
2 Shorer-Wheeler’s Koromandel Firefight, really did have to look passed the handler with this girl because the handler hadn’t got her act together at first but eventually did & once the handler had settled so did the dog & I got to see a quality girl going through her paces. Nicely made & well balanced throughout, good front & strong quarters & kind expression on a well balanced head;

LB (9)
1 Horsman-Phoenix’s Shiva Storm at Nordicwinds, 5 years, very striking looking girl who won a very strong class with lots of quality that she had to beat. Head is super & is correct throughout, & her expression is so kind & warming that it adds to her overall balance & beauty of her well constructed body & her faultless movement as she moved with ease but yet with purpose while being superbly handled at all times. CC;
2 Towers & Rivers’ Chayo Cookie Monster for Wintadreama, this girl also has a lovely faultless head & body & was in beautiful condition & her strong quarters drove her around with ease;

OB (13)
1 Forster’s Hawkam Leading Lady of Kachemak, 7 years, kind expression & lovely dark eyes on a well balanced head & correct dentition with lovely clean teeth & her well arched neck made it the complete picture, topline is really good as his her tailset & her hocks are strong & sound which helped her move soundly throughout with no faults. RCC;
2 Mort’s Ch Arcticbreeze Midnite Echo, very pleasing on the eye with a nice expression & well covered throughout & well balanced with a lovely head, on the move she was very relaxed & composed & concentrating on what she was being asked to do & did it well & came close to getting the top spot;

GCB (1)
1 Forster’s Hawkam Kruzin On to Kachemak, 7½ years, yet again another very well balanced girl with a nice forechest & good feet, pleasing head with good dentition & is well balanced in body & moves without faults & deserved her prize.
