I would like to thank the committee of the show for inviting me to judge at this lovely show. To all the exhibitors I cannot thank you enough for trusting me to go over your malamutes, the quality of dogs pleasantly surprised me, the breed is in good hands and is developing well yet keeping the characteristics which make the breed stand out in the canine world for its beauty and strength. This was the most difficult selection of dogs to judge due to the depth of quality presented before me, many placing could change on a different day, I congratulate you on your breeding programs and thank you again.

Veteran Dog. (4 Entries, 1 Abs)
1: Thompson’s Ch Shomont Raisin Cain Sh. CM. Very strong masculine head, well arched neck and correct sloping topline finished with a beautiful tail carriage. Strong and powerfully built male with plenty of bone, good front and rear angulation, large well arched compact feet, effortless movement. He has all the functional attributes needed to do the job he was bred for, excellent example of the breed. Pleased to award him CC, BOB and if judged against the standard should perform well in groups.
2: Wolfe’s Ch Hawkeye Polarni Usvit (imp), another beautiful veteran, broad powerful head with correct shape/set ears, oblique eyes with correct pigmentation. Gently sloping topline and correct tails set. Good spring of rib and length of loin, strong and deep chest. Well-muscled, excellent condition. Clean coming and going a well-deserved champion.

Puppy Dog. (3 entries, 1 Abs)
1: Darlows Iceclimb Acent. Young male with appropriate proportion of head to muzzle. Dark oblique eye. Scissor bite, nice outline and beautiful tail set, adequate bone for age, a little shy but very beautiful efficient movement won him the class. Look forward to watching him mature. BPIB.
2: Lond-Caulk Icewolf King Of The North. Nice shape and overall proportions, dark oblique eye and beautiful shape/set ears. Correct harsh coat, good angulation. Clean coming and going such a baby at the moment and may take a while to show his true quality.

Junior Dog. (4 entries 0 Abs).
1: Smith’s Snowshoes Telmarine King. Strong in head for age, beautiful well arched neck. Good height to length proportion, good spring of rib, heavily boned with large compact feet. Strong deep chest. Clean coming and going, well-groomed and handled. Pleased to award him BJIB.
2: Woodhead’s Noraisy Take my Breath Away. Different in type to 1, attractive expression on this handsome male, loved his beautiful shape/set/size ears and dark eye. Pleasing overall proportions, good depth and width of chest for age, just a baby at the moment and will take time to show his overall quality.

Limit Dog. (8 entries, 3 Abs).
1: Smith’s Snowshoes King’s Legacy. Similar in type to the junior winner. Pleasing head, with correct shape and set ears. Strong in muzzle without being coarse. Good bone on tight compact feet. Correct tail set, short strong pasterns, good height to length ratio, another well-groomed and handled boy.
2: Singh’s Mountain Home Sledog Staxtacular (Imp USA). Broad powerful head with large muzzle, good pigmentation, correct eye and ear shape/set. Gently sloping topline, heavily boned, good angulation. Strong, deep chest. Clean coming and going just lacked a little sparkle today on the go around which cost him.

Open Dog. (6 entries, 0 Abs). Excellent class from 1st to 6th. 1: Loades Snowolf Black Iced Buddy. Really like this male, he epitomises the standard. Masculine yet still beautiful in head, well arched neck, gently sloping topline with a lovely tail carriage. Good bone and substance, no excess weight. Good angulation, strong in pasterns, clean coming and going and moved with effortless ease. Definitely ‘fit for function’. Pushed hard for the CC, more to come from this boy would be proud to have him in our kennel.
2: Ellis’s Ice Gangsta’s Ball of Fire for Chayo (Imp) JW, Sh.C. Really impressive red and white male who caught my attention when he entered the ring. Broad head with strong muzzle. Strong powerfully built, good spring of ribs and length of loin. Powerfully muscled thighs. Good bone and large compact feet, effortless on the move and was in my thoughts for the high awards.

Veteran Bitch. (4 entries, 0 Abs). Lovely class.
1: Loades Ch Snowolf Manhattan Marvel. Veteran bitch who didn’t disappoint me at all. Beautiful feminine expression. Strong front, good in bone and strong pasterns. Well arched neck, beautiful tail carriage. Correct angulation, clean coming and going and efficient side gait. Well-deserved of her titles and a quality example of the breed.
2: Mountstephens & Pullin’s Cedarcreek Exclusive at Whitewalker, another lovely veteran who pushed 1 hard. Correct front with good bone and compact feet. Lovely sloping topline, good spring of rib and correct angulation, in excellent condition, efficient tireless movement throughout. Harsh coat. Well-handled and presented.

Puppy Bitch. (6 entries, 3 Abs). Difficult class to judge movement due to the variable age and physical maturity of the puppies. They are all over the place at the moment, however, this is down to maturity and not quality.
1: Perfitt’s Samjoe’s The One And Only. Pretty feminine head, dark oblique eye. Correct in tail set and angulation, good bone tight compact feet. Tested the handler on the day.
2: Jelfs Lapema Gia Visto, another bitch who will come together with maturity. Good depth and width of muzzle, dark almond shaped eye. She appears larger in ear, however only due to growth stage. Correct length and arch of neck, sloping top line and correct tail set. Would be interesting to see how these two compare when maturity brings their physical structure together.

Junior Bitch. (4 entries, 2 Abs).
1: Warburtons Tailfly Jitterbug. Very nice little bitch. Beautiful expression ears small in proportion to head. Well arched neck, moderately sloping shoulders, good depth of chest and spring of rib. Correct height to length ratio.
2: Perfitt’s Samjoe’s The One And Only

Post Graduate Bitch. (4 entries, 2 Abs).
1. Windley’s Royaltaylor Catwalk Queen. Very correct bitch. Broad head, slight stop, with beautiful dark eye and correct ear shape/placement. Good bone, width and depth of chest. Good angulation, harsh coat, moved fluently, clean coming and going, lost a bit of enthusiasm in the challenge.
2: Perfitt’s Samjoe The Dream Lives On. Similar in type to the PB class winner, feminine expression with dark oblique eye. Good bone, tight compact feet. Correct tail set, clean coming and going, not in full coat and lacks the maturity of 1 which is understandable due to her age.

Limit Bitch. (14 enties, 4 Abs). What a top, top quality class.
1. Wadrup’s Just Got To Love Me Polarni Usvit. Her name suits her as I did love her. Stunning head piece which mirrors the standard. Good width and depth of chest, gently sloping top line and correct tail set, good front and rear angulation, good bone. Beautiful on the move and in excellent condition. Very well-presented and totally deserving of her Res CC.
2: Innes Icycool Oriana. Love this bitch, another beautiful head that exactly mirrors the standard. Heavily boned with tight compact feet, good depth of chest and spring of rib, correct sloping top line and tail carriage. Clean coming and going. Not in her full coat and still only a baby, however, a quality bitch who will push for top awards. Groomed to perfection.

Open Bitch. (8 entries, 4 abs).
1: Hartley’s Ch Koromandel Fireflight Sh Ch. A bitch who I have quietly admired from afar. She did not disappoint. Typical malamute head without any coarseness. Ears small in proportion to head. Heavily boned, good forechest, spring of rib and sloping top line. Correct tail set. Good angulation which enables fluid efficient movement around the ring. Well-presented and deserving of her CC.
2: Kelsey’s Tugidak Of Jaydonspire (Imp). Another quality bitch who I have admired. This bitch presents a powerful picture yet maintains her femininity. Good bone, tight compact feet, gently sloping top line. Strong and deep chest, no excess weight. Strong powerful mover, pushed hard for top awards which could change on another day.
