Judge's Critiques

First of all I would like to take this opportunity to thank The Secretary and Committee for their kind invitation to judge at their Show, your hospitality was second to none, I have never been to this ground before what a fabulous job you have done with it, very spacious with good ring sizes and in spite of the wet and blustery weather on the last day I enjoyed my time with you all. Next I must thank my two stewards Karen Arden and Helen Burke for the fabulous job you did which made the ring run so smoothly, and Helen I will never believe you did not keep topping up my coffee cup!! Lastly to all the exhibitors of all 3 breeds thank you so much for your entries and taking my decisions so well. My first time CC’s in your breed and I loved judging you today, I found a couple of upright shoulders and three incorrect bites mainly a really good type of coat but a couple with very light soft fly away coats, I was most impressed with all your dog’s feet not one that wasn’t tight, but I was so very happy with my final line ups, thankfully for me I know none of your dog’s so I went into the ring with a completely open mind and my placings are just my opinions.

MPD (1)
1 Jelfs Chayo Fire It Up for Lapema 7mths old, but a strong well constructed boy with good bone, liked his balanced head but it has so much more to come, correct dentition and pigmentation well shaped correct eyes has a very good ear set and he used them well correct reach and length of neck, well put together body of correct proportions witch can only get even better with maturity. Coat coming along nicely still soft in areas, a little loose in front at the moment, but good heart room but when you get to the rear end he is so well put together and has tremendous drive was more than happy to give him both of his classes, very promising young man. 1 Jelfs Chayo Fire It Up for Lapema JD (3) 1 Raby Kaskae La Voila at Icemoon Just 12 months old a boy I really liked, showing such promise to come as he matures. Strong balanced head everything correct, tight flews knows how to use his head eyes and ears giving such a true expression, ,correct neck into good shoulders straight front well balanced body another one with a strong rear end and pushed out well, correct amount of bone and in good jacket well carried tail. I see he is a litter brother to my RBCC winner what a litter that must have been!
2 Aitchison & Hurst Kaskae Eiffel for You Another boy who in profile stood out, so well constructed strong developing head everything correct, lovely length of neck into good shoulders, straight correct front well balanced body of good proportions, but not quite as strong on the rear end as 1 so for me his movement not as positive as the one above, but another one that can only improve with time.

PGD (3)
1 Druce Kaskae Hell of a View at Druxie Liked this boy a lot, but he took time to settle, good head shape for me just a tad light in eye but it did not distract from the overall picture, everything correct good ear carriage lovely reach of neck into a good front well off for bone but not overdone at first his front was all over the place but when he got it together he had such power and drive from his well made rear end, good tailset and in good jacket.
2 Burgess Burgess & Page Cedarcreek The Only Way is Up 3rd in JD he lost out in the Jun class because he just would not move out, A nicely made boy with so much to like about him scored in head and expression correct eyes and ears good neck into a well balanced body, again enough bone without being overdone in good jacket and in this class his movement was so true, a boy with a lot to like about him

1 Ellis-Payne Chao One in A Billion This boy took my eye when he first came into the ring, he did not disappoint when I went over him. Loved his correct well balanced head teeth pigmentation eye all correct, knew how to use his well set ears giving a lovely expression, strong reach of neck running into well laid back shoulders so therefore he had a good front with plenty of heart room correct height to length ratios and a good spring of rib coming he is very raw with a lot of maturing to do, but when I watched his movement what a power house he is at the backend must be a star of the future. I was told later that this was his first show thank you for the honour I will watch him in the future.
2 Perfitt Samjoe Shadowhunter JW A bigger boy than one with much to like about him, for me not the strength of head as one, but what he has is correct and balanced. Well constructed through out straight front balanced body coat coming along nicely, not the strength or power in his movement, but well deserved his place.

1 Smith Ch Cash The Check Shamanrock at Snowshoes (Imp Cze) Oh boy were to start, I just loved this boy, just spoke Malamute to me strong well balanced head beautiful eyes of the correct shape ratios of head completely balanced good dentition and pigmentation, correct active ears strong reach of neck into the best laid back shoulders fabulous front correct body proportions strong driving rear end which propelled him round the ring and for me a joy to watch, carried his tail well was delighted to award him the CC, but oh what happened in the challenge for BOB he had dropped his tail and would not bring it up, therefore lost any chance for BOB, not sure what had happened as in the winners run off he carried his tail correctly.
2 Jelfs Ch Lapema Malizioso Another boy I liked, strong correct head with everything as it should be, good reach of neck into good shoulders therefore a good front with heart room, well constructed throughout and he, unsettled on the move at first but when he did settle he moved truly but not for me the power of one.

1 Tozzi Multi Ch The Magician Uniroyal 7 year old male, just stunning what a picture he presented, loved his correctly balanced head with all correct features, strong neck into good shoulders therefore a good front, well balanced throughout, not the biggest of boys but oh how he used his rear end to power him round the ring, lovely reach and drive, handled to perfection, was delighted to give him the RCC and BV and watch him go RBV in show was an honour for me.
2 Croft Dreamwolves Oh My Oh My 8 yrs old and in super condition, I liked lots about him from his balanced correct head good confirmation great coat never put a foot wrong in his movement but did not have the reach and drive as one.

1 Elllis-Payne Chayo Feel The Heat What a little star, she has so much going for her, I could tell her handler was not used to showing Malamutes, but when he settled he did a pretty good job. What not to like about this young lady, such a pretty correct feminine head, good bite jet black pigmentation beautiful eyes of correct shape ratios of head were good, ear set and use of her ears was just the best, lovely length of neck for a baby of just 7 months good lay back of shoulders and straight front well balanced throughout. BPB in the challenge for BP she and her handler had completely settled and so deserved to go BP, was delighted to hear she had gone PG2.
2 Smiths Snowshoes Sweet Symphony Another pretty baby, loved her head and expression, correct length of neck but I found her a tad upright in shoulder which did affect her front movement… otherwise she is well balanced throughout with good bone, for a baby she had a strong rear end, but not the movement of one.

1 Druce & Druce & Aitchison Kaskae Ooh La La avec Druxie What a striking young lady, just so lovely to go over loved everything about her, from her correct balanced feminine head her correct confirmation strength of back end with lovely reach and drive in good coat, well handled to show off her fabulous movement. Was delighted to award her RBCC, sure the big cards are not far away, also made her BJ over her brother.
2 Prescott Lueidar Beautiful Rosa of Bearnortham (IKc) Another pretty feminine bitch with a well balanced head and everything correct, good shoulders straight front for me a little short in back and overall size, but she moved truly, but without the flair of one.

1 Druce & Druce & Aitchison Kaskae Ooh La La avec Druxie
2 Perfitt Samjoe Seelie Queen I was a bit spoilt for choice in this class as I liked something about all of them, but I had to make a decision, my notes read that I really liked this bitch, she has a very feminine head with correct plains good dentition and pigmentation lovely correct eyes and earset good neck into well laid back shoulders and well balanced throughout, but for me she did not have the bone of one and not the strength of movement.

LB (6) Again a very nice class of bitches, actually I have to say the quality of bitches was good but again decisions have to be made and who knows another day things could be different.
1 Brown Rumba Vasilyev Ostrov for Cupun (Imp Ukr) Another feminine bitch strong but feminine well balanced head everything correct, good ear set which gave her a lovely expression, correctly made throughout good front with plenty of heart room well made body she has good reach and drive powered by a strong backend, lovely tail carriage.
2 Jelfs Chayo High Jinks with Lapema Another well constructed lady again she has a lovely well balanced head which is correct lovely eyes giving with the use of her ears a lovely expression, correctly made throughout, and she moved with reach and drive, but without the power of one. 3 Smith Snowshoes Fancy Ferran.

OB (5,1)
1 Nevinson Ch Chayo Causin Chaos She took my eye when she first came into the ring but it was because I thought she maybe a little too heavy, how wrong I was, definitely a bitch that you need to run your hands over before making that decision, What a picture she is on the stand, so completely balanced lovely head and expression everything about her head is correct and balanced, lovely strong reach of neck into the best laid back shoulders, straight front well balanced body with such muscle, strong driving rear end, such strong positive rear movement and so very sound for a six year old lady, but what hit me was the depth and thickness of her coat absolutely lovely, was delighted to give her the BCC, I have to be honest for BOB I did love the dog but this lady never put a foot wrong in the challenge and I was delighted to make her BOB.
2 Ellis-Payne Ch Chayo Vasillisa Another lovely bitch from this well known kennel, she has so much to like about her, construction is on a par with one, lovely head and expression and correct front and rear, but whether it was the wind or not she was not as settled on the move,

VB (2,1) What a lovely way to end my days judging your breed with this young man pulling out all the stops when showing this bitch, certainly a handler of the future, big well done young man.
1 Perfitt Samjoe’s The One and Only 7 year old lady in lovely condition, loved her head and expression her good construction and super movement, pretty head which is very balanced, pigmentation a little mottled but I can forgive this in an older dog, she is completely balanced and boy could her super young handler get her to move out, using all the ring. Pleasure to give her this first place and no I did not give it her because of the age of her handler I thought she deserved it. Thank you all again for your entries and the sporting ways you took my decisions.
