Many thanks to the AMCUK committee for this opportunity to judge a good entry of dogs at the club show and to those that give up their time to arrange these events. I would also like to thank all of those exhibitors that took the time to enter and bring their dogs on the day for my consideration.

Minor Puppy Dog (2 Entries) Abs 0
1st: Mrs SL ELLIS-PAYNE Sno Quest’s Gonna Fly Now to Chayo (imp USA), Clean head and lovely alert expression on this youngster, strong neck with moderate arch, set well on shoulders, good forechest for one so young. Legs straight with good bone, large but tight feet. Well ribbed with short coupling and good rear angulation, clean on the move in all aspects. BPD.BPIS.
2nd: Mrs A CONEY Samjoe Wolfbane, 7 months old, with balanced muzzle to skull length,larger ears and wider set but I’m sure he will grow into these as he matures. Well set dark eyes, moderate length of neck, level topline. Carrying a bit of puppy weight still and a little loose on the move with a slightly rolling topline. Had a good time today at the expense of his handler.

Puppy Dog (1 Entry) Abs 0
1st: Mrs S & Miss L PERFITT Samjoe Shadowhunter, more mature brother to second in previous class. Head more balanced currently with smaller well set ears, similar good skull ratios, nice arch to neck on well laid shoulders and depth of chest just reaching elbows. Moderate amount of bone for his size. Held a nice slightly sloping topline and showed some steady movement in all directions.

Junior Dog: (1 entry) Abs 0
1st: Miss EJ DZIERGAS & Miss KL ASHWORTH James Bond Illa Kuvianartok at Nunataq (imp POL), Quite a striking 14 month old seal boy who has a strong overall outline. Masculine head but with a soft expression. Broad skull, nice arch to neck on well laid shoulders, good depth of chest and well sprung rib. Sloping topline and nice matching underline with slight tuck up, well toned throughout with a powerful rear action. Handler just needs to be more aware of his gait as he sometimes starts to pace which spoiled his later opportunities. BJD, BJIS.

Post Graduate Dog: (3 Entries) Abs 1
1st: Miss SP THOMPSON Northern Star Illa Kuvianartok (imp POL), 5 year old seal boy who was powerful on the move, with a strong rear driving action and carried a well set tail as a waving plume. Balanced masculine head with dark well set almond shaped eyes. Well-muscled throughout including a short firm coupling. Good sized well arched tight feet.
2nd: Quinn’s Lord Of Alaska Barki Bear (imp), really solidly built boy, broad masculine head, strong muzzle and small thick ears, strong neck with clean arch set on good forequarters. Deep and broad chest, excellent bone to legs and large, compact feet, in good coat. Good side gait at a steady pace, moved a little close on the away due to being held back. Handler needs to keep the dog more focused whilst being assessed.

Limit Dog: (2 Entries) Abs 0
1st: Mr A & Mrs D LUNN Nordicwinds Jazz Singer, Solid male, with broad head and muzzle, soft expression from his dark almond shaped eyes, strong neck with well laid shoulders, deep firm chest to elbows. Good topline and short coupling, well angulated rear and short strong hocks which provided great power. RBD
2nd: Mrs J WHYMAN & Mr J MURRAY Tailfly Heart Of Gold, smaller male but another with a nice balanced head giving a friendly expression, equal skull to muzzle ratios, well set alert small ears, good arch to neck, longer in body than some, nice sloping topline and clean underline with a well muscled loin, Moved round the ring with a rhythmic motion.

Open Dog: (4 Entries) Abs 1
1st: Mrs KE COPLEY-HOLLAND & Dr JE & Mrs RA HUG Am GCHB Adair’N’ Hug Rythm & Blues, you don’t see many agouti coloured malamutes in the UK but this boy is quite striking. A perfectly balanced head, broad but not overdone, strong muzzle and the kindest of expressions capped with alert ears. Well angulated and boned front, moderate rear angulation and he moved with purpose maintaining a firm topline. Really pulled out the stops in the challenge with a powerful composed gait BD, BIS
2nd: Mrs J WHYMAN Heartbreaker Siwash Legend (imp CZE), smaller but well balanced male with a nice side profile, good arch to neck, well angulated front and rear which propelled him with purpose around the ring with reach and drive, true on the move in all aspects. High set tail nicely carried which never stopped.
3rd: M PALASINSKA Anson Del Biagio (imp ITA), Good sized male, broad handsome head with strong muzzle, strong firm neck with moderate arch, moderately angulated front, solid bone and substance throughout, large compact feet. Good topline and moderately angulated rear, just needed to extend on the move a little more today.

Special Veteran Dog (7-9 years) (3 Entries) Abs 1
1st: Mrs A NEVINSON CH Chayo Golden Touch Golden Touch ShCM, Very handsome male with a lovely head, balanced proportions, well set almond eyes and well placed small thick ears. Neck well set on shoulders, with good bone and large tight feet. Chest depth to elbows, in good coat and carrying a well furnished tail. Clean on the move in all aspects.
2nd: Mrs J WHYMAN & Mr J MURRAY Tailfly Nightcrawler. A male with a friendly alert expression, head size in proportion to body, well angulated front with depth of chest to elbows, Legs not carrying the bone of 1st. Clean underline and slightly sloping topline. Well muscled throughout and moved with powerful drive at the rear.

Special Veteran Dog (10 years & over) (4 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: Miss SP THOMPSON Libertia In The Red Again at Shomont, sturdy male who has a powerful front, well angulated with good prosternum, well ribbed body with good breadth to chest. Neat balance head, strong muzzle with eye colour in balance with his coat. On the move this red boy really turned back the years as he powered around the ring tirelessly with excellent reach and drive. BVD,BVIS.
2nd: Miss AJ BLANEY Viking Fenrir Kin Of Kiyara’s Wolf Pak (imp DEU) ShCEx VW, good sized male, pleasing head with strong neck well set on shoulders. Not quite front angulation of 1st. He had a good length of leg to body. Well sprung rib. Slightly longer in body than some, nice turn of stifle at rear. Well toned throughout and moved with good extension front and rear.
3rd: Mrs M BUTLER Kaytoo Antarctic Kuma, nice side outline on this male showing good angulation front and rear, good arch to neck well set on shoulders and depth of chest to elbows, a little finer in breadth throughout. Moved well at a steady gait.

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at their May club open show. To my ring stewards, Julia & Les for keeping everything running smoothly, my co-judge Edward Forsey and referee Keith Givens. I found the whole show ran smoothly thanks to the organisers. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for bringing your lovely dogs under me. On a whole the dogs were of good temperament.

1st MARAHOOTY PRIDE’N GLORY – 8 month old bitch which I believe was her first show and was a bit overwhelmed by it all, never the less she did cope well, lovely head, with slight stop, dark eye and correct scissor bite, typical chest for a puppy which will broaden in time, good bone & feet, nice length of neck, good coat, correct tail set & carriage, moved ok once settled.

1st SAMJOE SEELIE QUEEN – 7 month old bitch with such a pretty feminine face, correctly set ears and typical in size for this age, lovely dark eye & correct scissor bite, nice coat, enough bone for her size, nice length of neck, straight back, short loin, correct tail set with a lovely waving plume, moved well once settled. 1st TOLKETNA TOP OF THE WORLD MOUNTAINGLEN – 17 month old bitch with lots to like, broad head with correctly set ears, slight stop, correct scissor bite, pleasing front, lovely length & arch of neck leading to a slight slope with straight back, slight slope to croup with correct tail set & carriage, nice turn of stifle, good for bone & feet, moved well.
2nd ARCTIC CHALLENGE LAST FAITH BY MARCHOSIAS – 2 year old pretty girl with small well furred ears correctly set, broad head with dark eye, correct scissor bite, broad front & good bone with nice feet, would have preferred more length to leg, good coat, tight tail, moved well.
3rd ONE MORE TIME OF GREYSTONE SHADOW – 5 year old lady and full of it today, lovely head with small ears, dark eye and slight stop, correct scissor bite, enough bone for size, lovely length of neck, straight back, nice length of loin, correct tail set & carriage, moved well once settled.

1st SAMJOE FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE JW – 2 year old. Loved this girl she has such a pretty feminine expression, broad head, small well furred ears correct set with dark oblique eye, nice angulated shoulders, with enough bone for size and lovely well arched toes, nice length and arch to neck leading to a slight slope and straight back, nice spring of rib and short loin, slight slope to croup with correct tail set and a lovely waving plume, in good coat, moved true coming & going. I could not fault her movement as she moved effortlessly round the ring holding her topline with her correct reach & powerful drive. Was happy to award her BB and later with co-judge she went BOS & RBIS
2nd CHAYO SWEET AS SUGAR – 19 months. Another lovely bitch with the same attributes as first. Broad head with correctly set ears, nice dark eye, broad muzzle, correct scissor bite, pleasing front with good bone & feet, nice length of neck, straight back, good spring of rib and short loin, correct tail set with a lovely waving plume, nice turn of stifle with short hocks, in good coat, moved effortlessly once settled, happy to award her RBB
3rd HER ALTESS MON MOTHA OF GREYSTONE SHADOW (Imp Fra) 11 year old lady, did make me giggle as think she was in the wrong class. Lovely head with the darkest of eye, small neat ears which were correctly set in skull, nice muzzle with correct scissor bite, balanced front & rear, I could watch this old lady move all day she was so balanced.

1st AM CH/HR CH KATABATICS HOLLABACK GIRL – 6 year old with lots to like, she has a broad head with small ears correctly set in skull, dark eye, broad muzzle, correct scissor bite, lovely broad front with good bone & feet, strong neck, correct coat, a little longer in body, correct tail set with a lovely waving plume, good turn of stifle, true coming & going & moved effortlessly round the ring.

1ST ARCTICTREKS BLACK SHEEP – 7 year old seal & white, broad head, slightly lighter in eye, strong muzzle, lovely broad front, good bone, correct tail set & carriage, correct coat, moved well once settled.

SVB: 10 Yrs & Over – 3 Entries 1 Absentee
1st CH/IRCH WINDBERG PAPARAZZI TO FENRIRKIN ShCM JW – 12 year old seal & white. I have judged this lady before and absolutely love her. She has a broad head with small well furred ears, lovely dark eye broad muzzle, lovely broad front, enough bone for size, correct feet, nice harsh coat, short loin, straight back with slight slope to croup with a good tail set & carriage, balanced front and rear, still powering around the ring for her age.
2nd KAYTOO ANTARCTIC ANKO – Another lovely veteran of 11 years, lovely head, small neat ears correctly set, dark eye, correct scissor bite, good front and enough bone, lovely length of neck, straight back, correct tail set & carriage, strong rear, moved steady & true around the ring.

1st: P QUINN Artic Challenge Last Faith by Marchosias (imp POL), Tidy little girl just approaching 2 years old, Very pretty feminine head, dark well set eyes and neat well furred ears set at back of skull, solid in body and well-toned throughout, clean on the move in all aspects, tail set quite high and tight.
2nd: Mr A SCOTT & Mrs J WHEATLEY Her Altess Mon Motha of Greystone Shadow (Imp FRA), this little lady surprised me at 11 years old as she did not present as of her years. Feminine head, with moderate breadth to skull and well balanced. Good arch of neck and moderate angulation, would like slightly more bone, however, she had nice sized feet, moved true away and back at a steady gait.
3rd: Mr A SCOTT & Mrs J WHEATLEY One More Time Of Greystone Shadow (imp FRA). Clean head with equal nuzzle to skull proportions, in profile body slightly longer than height at withers, depth of chest not quite to elbows and slightly long in foreleg making her look leggy. Moved well at a steady in all aspects.

Special Working Certified Bitch
1st: Mr A & Mrs L BURGESS, Cedarcreek Forever Young at Mountainglen, sturdy girl but retaining her feminine looks, clean head with good breadth between ears and clean, slight taper to muzzle. Strong neck nice set on well laid shoulders, good depth of chest and well ribbed. Solid bone to legs and large compact feet. Nice height to length ratio in profile.
2nd: Miss AJ BLANEY CH/Ir CH Windberg Paparazzi to Fenrirkin ShCM VW, pretty girl with a soft expression, well set small thick ears, solid neck, good angulation front and rear, chest to elbows. Strong loin, well-muscled rear and powerful on the move.
3rd: Mrs M BUTLER Kaytoo Antarctic Anko, balanced head in profile with nice ratios and well set ears, would like a little more fill under eyes to strengthen muzzle. Moderate angulation front and rear, held a nice topline as she moved gracefully with elegance rather than power.

Special Junior Rescue Stakes Bitch
1st: Mr S & Miss L PERFITT Samjoe Seelie Queen, felt privileged today to see this promising youngster, pleasing head with that youthful excitability in her eyes, good fill to skull with well set alert ears, nice arch to neck, well laid shoulders, slight slope to pasterns and tidy feet. Matching well angulated rear with a nice waving tail plume, moved well in all aspects, will be interesting to see how she matures.

Special Open Rescue Stakes Bitch
1st: Mrs S & Miss L PERFITT Samjoe From Russia With Love JW, another lovely young girl from the same kennel which has a pretty, balanced feminine head, lovely dark obliquely set almond shaped eyes. She may not be the biggest, but she is well proportioned throughout in body proportion and angulation, in tip top body condition and moved with super reach at the front and a powerful rear drive.
2nd: Mrs KE COPLEY-HOLLAND CH Am/Hr CH Katabatics Hollaback Girl, Heavier solidly built girl, broad head but still feminine with moderate stop, strong neck and well angulated front, good bone for a female, large feet. Longer in body than height at withers coming from a long rib. Good rear angulation and well toned.
3rd: Miss EJ DZIERGAS & Miss KL ASHWORTH Arctictreks Black Sheep, quite a large veteran girl, strong muzzle and equal lengths between muzzle and skull, deep chested giving her a sloping topline, would like slightly more breadth to body throughout. Moderately angulated with a nice tail set.
