Judge: Angela Anderson

I would like to thank the committee for the honour to judge at the May Club show and also to my efficient ring stewards Leslie and Julia Strudwick for ensuring everything ran smoothly. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for bringing their quality dogs under me and accepting my decisions with good grace. This was the first time for a long time that the dogs had been in a show ring and they all coped really well, especially the youngsters. Well done to all the committee for running a well organised covid safe show. As always this venue can be rather windy and cold and although the forecast was for heavy rain, the sun came out for most of the day. The atmosphere both inside and outside the ring was warm and friendly and this made the day very enjoyable. On the whole bites and temperaments were good, therefore I don’t need to comment on them further. Finally I would like to thank my co-judge Lauren Perfitt (Samjoe) and referee Mrs Kath Howarth (Hawkam) for working alongside me to award the top honours.

ALASKAN MALAMUTE DOGS

Junior Dog Class – 3 (1 Abs) Both really nice and promising young dogs, who could easily change places on a different day.
1st Mr B and Mrs S. Innes ICYCOOL ATOMIC – 17 months. Good masculine head with nice dark eye and pleasing expression. Nice body shape and well off for bone with good tail set and waving plume. A little loose on movement but this should improve with age. Will watch his career with interest.
2nd Mrs K. L. Jelfs LAPEMA MALIZIOSO – 16 months. Another quality young boy who also has a promising future. Very good head with correct eye and ear set. Well proportion body, with nice arch of neck and good tail set. A little excitable on the move at times but again has a lot to like. Just preferred the overall look of 1 today.

Post Graduate Dog Class – 5 (2 Abs)
1st. Ms T and Mr E. Forsey MUZOKU LET’S GO CRAZY – 5 year old. Lovely boy. Overall proportions were correct but a profuse coat hid some of this dog’s features in profile. Mature head with correct dark eye and ear set. Deep chest and correct topline and waving plume. Slightly more compact than 2 and 3, but moved well with plenty of drive and was shown in excellent condition.
2nd. Miss N.J. Singh SLEDOG BLACK LIGHTNING – 2 year old. Maturing nicely with a masculine wedge shaped head, with correct dark oblique eye, giving to a kind expression. Nice arch of neck, correct sloping top line and tail carriage. Correct double coat and texture. Well balanced body with good bone and feet. Moved sound and effortlessly. Pushed hard for top place.
3rd . Miss C and Mr & Mrs Bowden and Hughes MAKALU MOUNTAIN LEGACY – 22 months. Another nice young boy with a lot to like. Good masculine head and pleasing expression. Nice outline and well balanced throughout. Moved well but didn’t have as much drive as 1 or 2.

Limit Dog Class – 5 ( 0 Abs)
1st Mrs K.E. Copley-Holland KATABATIC’S COVERT OPERATOR – 22 months. Young dog who won his class on movement. Typey masculine head and nice arched neck. Well off for bone with good proportions and angulations. Correct tail set and coat texture. Well balanced and muscled with good angulation front and back, who moved round the ring with drive. Should have a promising future ahead.
2nd Miss A. Rutherford CHAYO STAR OF THE EAST – 2.5 year old. Another nice quality dog with a lot to like. Good masculine well proportioned head with broad muzzle but would have preferred smaller ears. Good depth of chest and well balanced with plenty of bone. Well presented with correct coat texture and tail set. Moved well and could easily change places with 1 on a different day.
3rd Mr R and Mrs N. Raby YUAYUA AT ICEMOON (Imp SWE) – 4 year old. Good mature masculine head of correct proportions with correct eye and pigment but again would have preferred smaller ears. Moved nicely and was handled and presented well.

Open Dog Class – 5 (0 Abs) Super class of quality dogs, which was a joy to judge and was splitting hairs with all placings.
1st. Mr P and Mrs M. Page SNOW LEGEND BELIEVE IN YOU CEDARCREEK JW (Imp RUS) – 2.5 year old. Wow this boy commanded my attention as soon as he walked into the ring. Full of type and substance with a mature masculine head of correct proportions with correct eye, pigment and good ear set. Strong well arched of neck, sloping top line, tail carriage and good coat texture. Good depth of chest and well balanced with plenty of bone. Well muscled hindquarters with moderate angulation giving him good reach and drive and a lovely overall profile. Presented and handled well although made his handler work hard at times. Was delighted to award him BD and then with co judge BIS.
2nd. Mrs S.J. Loades CH SNOWOLF BLACK ICE BUDDY – 5 year old. Another quality dog who pushed hard for top place. Different type to 1 but another dog who I admired. Handsome broad masculine head with correct proportions with dark eye and good ear set, giving a kind expression. Deep chest, nice arch of neck, correct sloping top line and tail carriage with correct harsh coat texture. Balanced angulation with plenty of bone, good feet and strong pasterns and shown in excellent condition, he moved with good reach and drive. Was delighted to award him RBD and then with co judge RBIS.
3rd.Miss N.J. Singh MOUNTAIN HOME SLEDOG STAXTACULAR (Imp USA) – 5 year old. This boy had all the attributes of a good honest freighting dog with a super wedge shaped masculine well-proportioned head. Harsh coat texture and correct tail set with a lovely waving plume. Well balanced with good angulation front and back, who moved round the ring with effortless drive.

Special Veteran Dog Class (7 – 9 yrs) – 6 (1 Abs) Always enjoy the veteran classes and these were all good examples of mature dogs in the breed.
1st. Mr I and Miss K. Pullin & Mountstephens CH INUPIATS QULIT HENRIK AT WHITEWALKER (Imp NOR) – 7 year old. Another boy who looked like he could work all day. Matured proportioned head with broad muzzle and correct dark oblique eye with soft expression. Nice arch of neck, good top line and spring of rib carrying a correct harsh coat and tail set. Balanced angulation front and back with good feet and presented in hard condition and moved soundly with powerful gait. BVIS
2nd .Mr J & Mrs J. Horsman & Horsman-Phoenix NORDICWINDS ACTION HERO ShCM – 7 year old. Another quality veteran who had a very nice profile. Lovely mature head leading to a nice arch of neck and sloping top line. Good tail carriage and coat texture. Good depth of chest and well balanced with plenty of bone and was presented and handled well. Pressed hard for top place.
3rd . Mrs M. Butler KAYTOO ANTARCTIC KUMA – 9 year old. Lighter in build to 1 and 2 but was in good condition and presented well. Nice masculine head and held his top line on the move. Balanced angulation with good spring of rib and carrying a good coat and tail set. Moved well with plenty of drive.

Special Veteran Dog Class (10 + yrs) – 1 (0 Abs)
1st. Mr A and Mrs L. Burgess CEDARCREEK ENDURANCE AT MOUNTAINGLEN – 10 year old. This boy defied his vintage status with good proportions and outline. Very typey mature head with strong well arched neck leading into a correct topline and tailset. Well balanced angulation with a nice deep chest. Shown in super condition and moved soundly. A credit to his owner.

STAKES CLASSES

Brood Bitch Class – 1 (0 Abs)
1st. Mr P and Mrs M. Page CEDARCREEK EXQUISITE – 10 year old. Lovely feminine bitch who’s progeny was similar in type and consistency. All moved well together and was presented and shown well. Best Brood Bitch.

Brace Class – 2 (1 Abs)
1st. Mr A and Mrs L. Burgess CEDARCREEK ENDURANCE AT MOUNTAINGLEN & CEDARCREEK FOREVER YOUNG AT MOUNTAINGLEN – Lovely pair who matched stride as well as type, bone and balance. Best Brace.

Special Open Red (Dog / Bitch) – 1 (0 Abs)
1st. Mr I and Miss K. Pullin & Mountstephens CEDARCREEK EXCLUSIVE AT WHITEWALKER – 10 year old. This bitch was a litter mate to my veteran (10yr +) winner and the brood bitch winner, so a lot to like. Overall well proportioned bitch with feminine head with good eye, ear and nice pigment. Shown in very good body condition and moved with plenty of drive.

Special Working Certificate Bitch Class – 7 (2 Abs)
1st. Mr I and Miss K. Pullin & Mountstephens WHITEWALKER WINTERFELL – 3 year old. This girl caught my eye as she entered the ring. A lovely feminine profile, who was well constructed and in excellent body condition and well muscled. Out of coat today but what was present was of correct texture. She excelled on movement with super reach and drive, which gave her an effortless ground covering gait. Was delighted with my co judge to award her Overall Special Working Certified Winner
2nd. Miss A.J. Blaney CH/IR CH WINDBERG PAPARAZZI TO FENRIRKIN ShCM VW – 11 year old. This girl does not look her age and was in super condition with the most beautiful feminine head, expression and profile. Smaller in size to 1 but moved soundly with powerful gait. Good feet and well proportioned body and bone, carrying the correct double coat and texture. Pushed 1 hard for top place.
3rd . Mr A and Mrs L. Burgess CEDARCREEK FOREVER YOUNG AT MOUNTAINGLEN – 6 year old. Another lovely well constructed bitch. Good type and substance with a good head and profile. Moved soundly and in excellent condition. Just preferred the movement of 1 and 2 more.

First of all I would like to thank the AMCUK for inviting me to judge, I felt very honoured to be offered such an appointment. Thank you to the exhibitors who entered under me all your dogs are a credit to you. Temperaments were fabulous with not a cross word said all day. Bites on all my exhibits were correct so I have not commented on them in the critiques. All the exhibits were presented and handled well so again I have not mentioned this individually. Thank you to my Co-Judge Ange Anderson and to the Referee Kath Howarth.

Minor Puppy Bitch (1 Entries, 0 Abs)
1st Miss A BOGLE & Mr R HORSFIELD Cahppes Tailwind Takala at Valknut (Imp SWE) NAF TAF. 8 month seal and white. Feminine head with dark eyes. In good coat. Lovely arch of neck into a gently sloping top line which she held well on the move. Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy in Show.

Junior Bitch (4 Entries, 1 Abs) This was the class of the Covid babies, who all took things in their stride.
1st Ms T & Mr E FORSEY Muzoku You’re My Obsession. I really was quite taken with this bitch. 12 months and carried herself well & took things in her stride. Feminine head with dark eyes. Lovely length & arch to her neck, flowing into a gently sloping top line & excellent tail set. Moderate angulation front & rear which was even more evident on the move where she was in control of herself & so nicely balanced. I was delighted to award her Best Junior Bitch and Reserve Best Bitch. She also took Best Junior in Show.
2nd Miss NJ SINGH Mountain Home Sledog Talkin’ All That (Imp USA). 12 months and so very pretty. Stands with a lovely outline. She moves effortlessly and has well-balanced construction of her front and rear assemblies.
3rd Mr R & Mrs N RABY Moon’s Nordicstars Burning Flame (Imp SWE). 16 months, well boned bitch. Pleasing head with nice dark eye. Natural sloping top line. Her movement was unfortunately a little erratic today.

Post Graduate Bitch (6 Entries, 3 Abs)
1st Mrs J WARWICK First Lady with Tolketna (Imp). 2 ½ years with lots to like about this girl, lovely head, eye and expression. Brilliant coat of good texture. Good top line with well-set and carried tail, good bone and feet. Easy effortless movement.
2nd Mrs M BUTLER Paha Sapa Mals Blahnik via Kaytoo (Imp ITA). 2 ½ years seal and white bitch. Feminine head with dark eyes. Lovely length and arch to her neck, flowing into a gently sloping top line & excellent tail set. Moved well.
3rd Mr A SCOTT & Miss J WHEATLEY One More Time Of Greystone Shadow (Imp FRA). At nearly 3 years this girl had nothing to hide today, coming in her bikini.  She has a very pretty head piece with correctly set ears and nice dark eye. Good top line when standing. Moved well.

Limit Bitch (6 Entries, 2 Abs)
1st Mr J HORSMAN & Mrs J HORSMAN-PHOENIX Snow Legend Be My Lucky Nordicwinds JW (Imp RUS). I like this girl a lot. 2 ½ years. She has a very pretty head piece with correctly set ears and nice dark eye. Good top line when standing. Correct in front and rear angulations. Good tail carriage and coat texture. She moved around the ring with ease showing reach and drive.
2nd Mr I PULLIN & Miss K MOUNTSTEPHENS Whitewalker Winterfell. Nearly 3 years. She has a lovely feminine head, with strong neck leading into a gently sloping top line which was held on the move. She had effortless movement as she powered around the ring.
3rd Mrs J WARWICK First Lady with Tolketna (Imp) as 1st Post Graduate.

Open Bitch (3 Entries, 2 Abs)
1st Mr P & Mrs M PAGE Cedarcreek Frozen In Time. 6 years and what a stunner. She has such a pretty, feminine headpiece with a nice eye and lovely small ears. She has good overall proportions with a nice arch of neck leading to a gently sloping top line. Pleasing front and balanced rear angles. Plenty of bone and good feet. She has a balanced outline in side profile. Super movement showing fantastic reach and drive. I was delighted to award her Best Bitch and went on to win Best Opposite Sex in Show.

Special Veteran Bitch 7-9 Years (5 Entries, 2 Abs)
1st Mrs D JARVIS & Mrs S TROISI Nordicwinds All Attitude. This breed is said to be slow maturing and at 7 years this girl has definitely matured into a beautiful girl. Good head and expression, good length of neck leading into a gentle sloping top line. In stance she is well balanced in angulation and overall proportions and moved with ease around the ring. Good tail carriage and coat texture. Delighted to award her Best Veteran Bitch.
2nd Mrs M BUTLER Kaytoo Antarctic Anko. At the grand age of 9 years this girl still has it. Nice head with good eye. Strong top line which she held on the move. Her movement was effortless.
3rd Mr A SCOTT & Miss J WHEATLEY Her Altess Mon Motha Of Greystone Shadow (Imp FRA). A smaller girl that 1 & 2 but none the less still a lovely girl. Good head, pleasing outline on the stance. Moved well.

Special Veteran Bitch 10+ Years (5 Entries, 0 Abs) This was the hardest class to judge, all the bitches were just wonderful and places could have changed numerous times. They are all a credit to their owners.
1st Mr P & Mrs M PAGE Cedarcreek Exquisite. 10 years. Beautiful, feminine head with good eye. Lovely strong arched neck, flowing into a gently sloping top line. Moderate angulations both front and rear. Good tail carriage and correct coat texture. Her movement is strong and powerful yet looks so effortless.
2nd Miss AJ BLANEY CH/Ir CH Windberg Paparazzi to Fenrirkin ShCM VW. 11 years. Feminine head with a lovely expression. Good arch of neck leading to a gently sloping top line. In good coat with the correct texture. Carries her tail well. Plenty of bone. Moved effortlessly around the ring with reach and drive.
3rd Mr I PULLIN & Miss K MOUNTSTEPHENS Cedarcreek Exclusive at Whitewalker. 10 years litter sister to 1. Another that decided to come in her bikini meaning nothing could be hidden. She has a lovely feminine head. She has a good profile in stance. Another to move around the ring with power.

2nd Miss AJ BLANEY Viking Fenrir Kin of Kiyara’s Wolf Pak (Imp DEU). 8 years with a masculine head and good eye. Nice arch of neck leading to a sloping top line. Good tail carriage and coat texture. Powered round the ring effortlessly.

Special Working Certified Dog (6 Entries, 3 Abs) A class of veterans who all moved so well for their ages. They are all a credit to their owners.
1st Mr J HORSMAN & Mrs J HORSMAN-PHOENIX Nordicwinds Action Hero ShCM. 7 years with a good head. Nice arch of neck leading to a gently sloping top line. Good tail carriage and coat texture. Moderate angulations front and rear. Moved well showing excellent reach and drive.
2nd Mrs M BUTLER Kaytoo Antarctic Kuma. 10 years and he still has it. Masculine head with dark eye. Good bone. Carries his top line well on the move with steady, balanced movement.  
3rd Mr A & Mrs L BURGESS Cedarcreek Endurance at Mountainglen. 11 years and a credit to his owner. He has a masculine head. Balanced angulation both front and rear. Moved with power around the ring.

Junior Dog or Bitch (6:4)
1st Jelfs’ Lapema Maliziosa, 17 month old gentle boy with kind expression, lovely dark tight eye, nice tight lips with good pigment, head masculine of good proportions, well set ears, good overall outline and strong topline, correct depth of chest and good strong short loin. In lovely condition, excellent tight feet, good moderate angulation, well balanced, moved very well. Reserve Best Rescue Stakes
2nd Innes’ Icycool Atomic, 13 month old attractive masculine youngster, head very strong, good eye shape a little deeper set than one, well placed ear just slightly larger, lovely width of muzzle in good proportion to skull, pleasing length of neck, good size and overall outline, holds topline, gorgeous coat nice tight feet, moved very well. Two beautiful young dogs.

Open Dog (9:6)
1st Rutherford’s Chayo Star of the East, 2 year old with good eye, lovely tight mouth, good width to muzzle, well set ears which could be neater, lovely tight feet, strong bone, excellent proportions, lovely moderate angulation, strong well held topline, good strong loin and well ribbed back, lovely tail set and moved fluently. Best Rescue Stakes
2nd Roach & Piper’s Celticice Tynam Quillan, nearly 5 year old male, with well proportioned head, dark tight eye, gentle stop, ears bit on large side, good pigmentation, snow nose, had good overall outline with pleasing angulation and strong bone, carrying a little too much weight so movement was little sluggish.
3rd Ellis & Nevinson’s Ch Chayo Golden Touch ShCM, 6 year old male in lovely condition and well presented. Very pleasing expression, tight dark eye, well set ear of good size, good overall outline in profile, good topline, good moderate balanced angulation, very strong in chest, seeming a little wide, moved very well in profile but seemed wide at elbow coming towards.

Open Bitch (3:1)
1st Butler’s Paha Sapa Mals Blahnik at Kaytoo (imp Ita), 2 year old dark girl of smaller type, very feminine with lovely markings, balanced head, correct stop, beautiful small well furred ears, very well set, lovely balance, good straight topline, good coat lovely dark oblique eye, good bone, well ribbed and well set tail, effortless mover in tip top condition
2nd Page’s Nordicwinds All Attitude, 7 year old of larger type, gentle feminine head, lovely gentle stop, well set ear, good pigment, skull only slightly domed, tight dark eye, coat gives appearance of losing topline on stand, well set tail, thought her a little bit short in upper arm, good bone and loved her overall size. Very alert with the most endearing character.
