It was amazing to judge Alaskan Malamutes at this show for my third CC appointment. As a breed I am passionate about and one I absolutely love, I was very much looking forward to this appointment, and I certainly was not disappointed. I had a lovely day judging a quality entry with a mixture of dogs throughout the classes, which in several cases made for some extremely challenging decisions. Overall, I was delighted with my principal winners, who I felt were excellent examples of the breed. I would like to thank the exhibitors for entering and bringing their lovely dogs.

1st Sutton, Mrs C, Icewolf Midsommer Dream. Powerful head with a nice expression. Nice front with strong neck and deep chest. Straight front legs and good feet. Excellent coat. Moved well.

Minor Puppy Dog
1st Brouard, Mrs N, A, Icycool Xavier To Orsmals. Nice young male. Broad head with large muzzle. Nice proportions. Good shape to neck. Nice compact feet. Excellent bone. Amazing coat of good texture and lovely colour. Really nice mover. Look forward to seeing this boy mature. BPD

1st Partridge-Bebb, Mrs V & Partridge-Bebb, Mr N Kaskae Show Me The Monet Avec Keighanya. This lad had a very nice broad head with nice triangular shaped ears of good thickness. Lovely dark eye. Moderately arched neck into lovely front angulations and straight front legs. Deep chest and sloping topline into a lovely well furred, well set tail. Excellent turn of stifle and well muscled hindquarters. Lovely bone and nice coat. Moved really nicely. Considered him for RDCC.
2nd Jelfs, Mrs Chayo Fire It Up For Lapema. Different from first. A lovely head with a lovely dark almond shaped eye and nice thick ears. Deep chest and good proportions throughout. Hocks straight from behind. Lovely bone and nice compact feet. Excellent tail carried well. Another lovely mover. Shame he was out of coat today.

1st Burgess Mrs L & Burgess Mr A Cedarcreek The Only Way Is Up JW. Good head with broad muzzle and triangular thick ears. Almond shape eyes. Moderately arched neck and good front with deep chest. Nicely sloping topline into a lovely wagging tail. Good compact feet. Nice bone. Moved really well.
2nd Perfitt Miss L & Perfitt Mrs S. Samjoe Shadowhunter JW. Good head with broad skull. Nice neck and front with straight legs into good feet. Well furred tail. Lovely harsh coat. Moved well round the ring.

Open Dog
1st Jelfs Mrs K Ch Lapema Malizioso. I loved this handsome chap the minute he came in, a clear winner. Powerfully built displaying excellent breed type throughout. Well balanced and strong. He had a lovely broad head with well shaped dark eyes giving him a very pleasing expression. Nice small, correctly placed ears. Moderately arched neck into a strong deep chest. Slightly sloping topline into a powerful hindquarter with strong hocks. Excellent bone perfect for the breed. Nice compact feet with neat toes. Tail carried over his back nicely looking like the perfect waving plume needed from the breed. On the move he was sound, steady, and seemed effortless as he powered round the ring. Amazing reach and drive. Nice thick coat of coarse texture. An excellent example of the breed. DCC & BOB.

Another nice boy. Good head with a skull that is broad between the ears. Ears nice and thick. The most excellent front. Neck strong into moderately arched shoulders deep chest and lovely straight legs. Nicely angulated hindquarters. Compact feet with tight toes. Lovely waving tail. Nice coat. Moved lovely with reach and drive.

1st Tozzi Mr F Ch Am It Int Ch The Magician Uniroyal. A lovely strong male. Nice broad head with handsome expression. Strong neck into a lovely deep chest and straight front legs. Nice slope to his topline and the perfect tail. Excellent hind quarters with broad, strong hind legs. Straight from behind. Nice compact feet. Really excelled on the move, moving without exaggeration and effortlessly. Shown in excellent condition with a lovely harsh coat. RDCC
2nd Woodhead Mrs G & Woodhead Miss R Noraisy Take My Breath Away JW. Hugely different from first. Nice broad head with the most amazing small triangular thick ears. Good angulations throughout and lovely sloping topline. Excellent tail of good length. Good hocks. Really nice coat and looking fabulous with a beautiful colour. Moved well.

Special Beginner Bitch
1st Perfitt-Jones Mr J Samjoes The One And Only VW. Nice girl with lovely almond shaped eyes giving her a kind expression. Lovely well furred thick ears. Excellent angulations and proportions. Even front and rear giving her the perfect shape. Plenty of bone. Lovely thick coat. She moved well, perfectly handled. Was great to see her and her handler take 4th in the Special Beginner Group.

Minor Puppy Bitch
1st Jelfs Mrs K Lapema Nevr Trust The Living. Excellent young puppy. Lovely pretty head with a kind dark eye. Nice front with deep chest. Good topline. Plenty of bone. Beautiful coat of a lovely thickness and texture. Once settled she moved so nicely without exaggeration. This earned her the class win.
2nd Innes Mrs S & Innes Mr B Icycool Athena. Very different from 1st but still nice. Sweet head with thick triangular ears and lovely dark eyes. Nice outline on the side with a good topline and well angulated hindquarters. Lovely wavy tail. Excellent coat of a good colour. Good mover.

1st Smith Mrs J & Smith Miss J Snowshoes Time For Jenga. A really pretty young girl. Broad between the ears. Ears themselves were thick and well furred. Kind expression. She was the perfect puppy. Excellent front with perfect angulations and moderate slope to her shoulders. Nice deep chest and straight well boned front legs. Good bend to stifle and well angulated hocks, straight from behind. Nice topline into a fabulous tail that waved constantly. Nice coat. She moved so well round the ring with excellent reach and drive, so effortless. Look forward to seeing this girl mature. BP.

1st Copley – Holland Mrs K Ch Katabatics Troubleshooter JW. A lovely head with excellent expression. Nice dark, almond eyes. Broad muzzle and broad skull between thick ears. Nicely arched neck with well muscled shoulders and deep chest. Nice outline throughout with a sloping topline down to an excellent tail. Compact feet. Wonderful coat with nice texture and thickness. She moved so well.
2nd Zettin Miss F Ch Mazurstar Mamba Berry. Another lovely head, broad at the muzzle with a lovely kind dark eye. Well set thick ears. Good angulations. Excellent front with good substance and strength. Lovely deep chest and excellent topline. Nicely muscled hindquarters with a nice tail. Straight hocks. Another lovely mover.

Veteran Bitch
1st Brouard Mrs N Ch Jsy Ch Sutarka Coco Chanel At Orsamals Pdh. She caught my eye at once. Such a well put together veteran. Attractive, powerful head with dark brown eye giving her a beautiful expression. Nice well furred small ears. Good strength throughout. Excellent front, well muscled with plenty of bone. Chest deep and strong. Topline held well and slightly sloping down to well muscled hindquarters with excellent angulation. Tail well furred and just touches her back. She moved amazingly round the ring with plenty of reach and drive. Shown in the most amazing coat and looking outstanding as a veteran. BCC, BOS & BV.
2nd Nevinson Mrs A Ch Causin Chaos. Nice almond shaped eyes giving a nice expression. Lovely thick triangular ears that were well furred. Nice strong front with good proportions. Even throughout. Good straight legs and nice compact feet. Good bone. Shown in wonderful coat of perfect thickness. Another effortless mover. Considered for RBCC.
